I can't seem to get desktop notifications anymore. I get the notice from the forum to enable notifications, which I do, and then it says: "Your browser will shortly prompt you to accept notifications from us."

Unfortunately, nothing heppens.

It'll be activated again in a day or so, will send true notifications at that point and will be installable as an app.

Didnt know where to post this.

After being an active memberon here over the last 13 years or so, I have gotten to the point now where I feel the intrusive nature of the adverts on this site (especially the lottery one) has made this site far too frustrating for me to use.

Barely a day has gone by since 2009 where I havent checked the GFS charts, but now every time I go to check I have to deal with an advert that overlays itself just as Im clicking the 850 or rain overlay, opening up a new page that Id not intended.

Ive had enough of it now, banner links are fine, but these new intrusive ads have ruined this site.

Such a shame, ill now be heading to w.outlook for my daily gfs fix.

A sad day

Is anyone else experiencing lag from when you click submit a reply to a post until it actually happens? It used to be almost instant whereas now it seems to take several seconds

Can't say I've seen that, is it happening in a particular thread?

It seems to happen more in threads where they have larger numbers of pages the media thread as an example, it took several seconds from submitting to actually happening

Most issues are sorted by a simple doing ....by clearing cache & cookies

I have done that it is still the same

It only seems to happen in threads where pages are over a certain number as this one the replies are going through instantly.

Well it’s straight forward then if you ask me, lock the treads that are with issues , and start a fresh

Wondering why the forum is asking me if my email address is still....Xxx@ x.com??

Is this an official forum request, or is it a scam trying to get me to sign up for a £5k Stormchasing in Bedworth tour with Gordon?

It's an official forum function, to make sure your email address is up to date. One reason for it is that we'll be making a change to the login system soon and should you get locked out you'll need access to the email address associated with your account to get back in.
