All seems to be back to normal now - I'll keep an eye on it though http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Cheers - looks like I might just make it to the pub without getting too wet!

Hi BB, you could use this code:

[url=http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=69&]My blog[/url]

That would display - my blog as a link to your blog, you can of course change the working to whatever you like.

Clicking the BB code help link on the posting screen gives some good hints on how to use the various code options on here http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons//blink.gif

Hi, due to some people joining the forums and abusing the pm/email system, we have introduced a security feature whereby members need to have made x amount of posts before being able to access the messaging features. The amount of posts varies randomly. http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons//huh.gif

my computers logged me off the site 5 times so far this morning, and I cant find the thread from yesterday telling us how to delete cookies - could someone talk me through (in easy language!) how to do it?

In your internet browser:

Go to Tools

Then go to 'internet options'

Under the General tab (my first window), there is a button saying 'delete cookies'.

Click this, and all your cookies will disappear.

Your muffins however, shall stay.

Thanks SR - that was pretty painless. (and for my work computer, suprisingly quick!)

Good that the muffins are staying - I like them better than cookies!

There seems to be quite a few images that people have posted that I can't see - for instance Wilco has posted something today, presumably showing snow - and I can't see it. From the responses in the threads, such as (wow, cool!) and (I hope we get some of that...) etc, it looks as though other people can see these images, but not me.

Is it me, or is it me? :) Thanks.

I think that may be to do with a security setting on your pc - the image you can't see is hosted elsewhere, so it's possible you have a setting that stops you being able to view images from other domains when on a site?

Whenver I press the return key, my text goes down 2 lines.

Like this.

Why?

What have I pressed that I shouldn't have in my controls??

Not sure what may be causing this, have you done this as yet:

Lol that'd be it, the majority of forum users use that, and no-one else has reported it, so am thinking it may be a setting somewhere on your machine. Will try to find out what it may be.

In the meantime, pressing shift+enter should only take it down one line, or you could switch off the rich text editor for now

Lady P/Paul,

I was getting this problem too and I switched off the Rich Text editor and it is now ok.

Regards,

John

Thank you Paul...

So helpful.

(Oh... it doesn't do it in 'fast reply!' Curiouser and curiouser.)

I thought it might be an in-built paragraph sorter  .

Happening to me now unless I press shift & return at the same time. That old saying rings true that 'you learn something new every day.'

Hi, Paul or any other moderators in the know. I have been unable to access the N-W website, since yesterday afternoon using the networked computers at work. I've tried deleting the N-W cookies which I guess are used to automaticaly log me on to the N-W site, but when I consequently type in net-weather.co.uk/forum in the address bar it still won't access the site - but access to every other site has been no problem. Is there some setting where the computer automatically recognises passwords that needs changing to allow me to gain access to N-W? I've no problem with accessing or loging onto N-W on my home PC which I'm currently using.

Thanks for any help.
