i've found the cause of the problem - one tiny bit of dodgy data in the file is causing it to loop - i suppose i need a solution next

it's going to bounce all over the place for the next 10 minutes - i've sussed it and put in a piece of chewing gum to hold it all together

Not sure if this is of any use, but just clicked 'View New Pages', and came up with a blank NW Page stating:

IPS Driver Error

There appears to be an error with the database.

You can try to refresh the page by clicking here

Thats the message that comes up when the forum can't connect to the database for whatever reason, I've restarted the database server so hopefully it shouldn't come up again - let me know if it does though.

Cheers

Paul

How do you get people to talk to you on here? because it seems that only the people with over 3000 posts get any answers from anyone :) . Im very interested in every aspect of the weather inn the uk and world-wide but every time i need to find somthing out or try to add to a conversation it gets ignored :) . Im not a stupid person nor do I ask stupid questions but still I get no replies!

thanks SHU

I think you're misreading things to be honest SHU, new members are always made welcome but if you're posting into busy threads such as the winter discussion or model discussion, they're so fast moving that people tend to miss posts. Try posting a little more into the quieter slower moving threads, or the learning area if you have questions, people will notice them then and will always answer :)

Ok, thanks for the tip paul it just get a wee bit frustrating when my fav threads are the model disscusion and the extreme weather threads because they are both a bit frantic at times.

Thanks again SHU
