Hi there. How come the "August CET" thread on the Summer Forum is showing as "No New Replies" (light purple icon) when there are new replies? It's done this a few times now.

Seems to be showing as having new replies for me, you may need to clear your browser cache/cookies :)

Cheers for the reply Paul. I followed your advice and cleared my cache & cookies, but there still seems to be a problem.

Here is a screenshot:

(I hadn't looked at the thread since the new reply appeared)

Ah well. I suppose it doesn't matter, I can put up with it. :)

how many pages can a topic last

saint :)

I don't think there is an upper limit, although, to save people trawling through page after page, one of the mods usually starts a new thread whenever they see fit.

I await correction.

very stupid question but you know the squares under your personal picture what do they represent and mean and the name that comes with it-please help :D

They equate to the number of post you've made - can't remember the amount of posts required for each square off the top of my head at the moment though I'm afraid.

What are the rankings??

Like if you get this number of posts what do you get??

What do points make??? PRIZES.

Ahem.

After literally minutes of searching I have discovered this...

1 square - new members 0 posts

2 squares - cirrus 1 - 99 posts

3 squares - stratus 100 - 299 posts

4 squares - cumulus 300 -599 posts

5 squares - nimbostratus 600 - 1199 posts

6 squares - cumulonimbus 1200 plus posts.

It doesn't get better than that.

Of course, a lot of people have fiddled with their settings to make their rating rather more personal and slightly less cloudy.

There are different classes of members according to their posting abilities. Everyone starts off as a 'new member', then 'member', and over time depending on their behaviour, their posting rights can get more and more restricted. For instance, nos means a member cannot post in the serious discussion area. Other restrictions include the removal of the ability to start threads, so they can only reply in an existing thread. A decision will have been taken in the past that that member may have been deemed to be a serial thread starter or serial thread duplicator - so we restrict their abilities accordingly. There are many categories, and basically the category reflects the member's behaviour. Remember though that we don't have reason to do anything in the case of 98% of members who happily enjoy the forum and have no restrictions. Long may that continue :)

Quick Q...why have some members got Sacra numbers...I mean what is Sacra

It was a club, Snow And Cold Rampers Anonymous. I think it's kind of fizzled out now, there was some objection to it. My member number was 24. There used to be a newsletter (which was a brilliant read) and everything- I don't know if it'll be back this WINTER.

Can you describe exactly what happened?

Sounds like it might be the size of the image or the extension file of the image which might not be compatible with the Board.

Lots of help and guidance here:
