I'm not holding out for lying snow this March. It would be odd to record a day of lying snow during March and not one during the whole of the winter months, here in Manchester.

Oh well, I saw a covering this morning not 100% complete and I'm going to see a full covering tomorrow morning.

Cleadon: 3rd March 2006 (a.m., melted by lunchtime, more to come tonight though; their biggest fall in March since 2001)

Lancaster: 3rd March 2006 (biggest fall in March there since 1995- that's not saying much, mind you)

Leeds: 3rd March 2006 (up there with the biggest falls of early March last year)

I would have had to do something quite special to miss out on this one. It's also worth noting that all three locations stand a chance of picking up some more between now and Wednesday, with the cold air taking its time to clear away.

A few isolated flakes fell yesterday but there is still some patches left this morning from Friday's fall. Going fast as it's nice and warm in the sunshine.

Last time I saw lying snow was in nov 2005, but before that, not since feb 2004.

Well there only been 5 or 6 days when it hasn't snowed in Aberdeen this month! And such was the severity of the the snowfall in the first week of this month, I have seen snow every day as there is still the odd patch of old snow to found here and there. :D

A tiny little bit of compacted snow is still left on the ground, at the local dog-walking park, from a week past Sunday's snow event (22.1cms we got up here). I know it's still there coz i made it/put it there :D

Last Sunday! :D

OK, it was an old patch of icy snow on the tops of the Malvern Hills, from the snow that fell on Thursday night,

but it was a small patch of snow all the same!

All i know is that in Oswestry we had loads(enough for snow ball fights :) ) When the other half phoned home in Telford there was none at all. On boxing day we went for a walk up on the hills-a good 6 inches up there-looking over to the Wrekin it had none on it :( There were a few flakes in the air early Christmas day but then the sun came out. I tried to set up a webcam so we could check what was going on at home but ran out of time B) I don't recall the actual dates but we certainly had some snow this year.

This may seem a bit of a late reply lol :)

But i have found the picture i took 'Boxing Day' morning,

the snow came about 8Pm on christmas and it snowed for over 2 hours.

We had about 3cm of snow, indeed though on boxing day it melted.
