I can now confirm that overnight I had around 3cm of snow. Shame the sun's melting it.

Several light snow showers through the night settled on all surfaces, with a slight covering still remaining in places. Frequent light flurries at the moment.

I clearly need to move up the road to Skipton!

4cm fresh snow overnight here on the hills just to the south (of Skipton). First time in six years that we have had new snow on top of old snow, and a decent fall in the valley too. 6cm lying where yesterday's snow hadn't melted.

Just started snowing again.

More 'chunky' flakes this time, so settling better.

For here, this week has got better and better for snow settling.

Now, i'll just have to battle on my journey to lincs/norfolk border.

More snow in the valley than on your hillside?

Talk about unlucky man

Update from Sheffield

Period of snow from 7 to 8am and 9 - 1030 led to a covering of 2 cms.

Melted on most pavements but remains on cars/grass.

Currently another snow show light/moderate not settling on wet surfaces but settling on the grass/cars. Currently getting brighter from east so probably only a passing shower.

Snow flurries in Central London for the last 30 minutes, not amounting to anything significant though

Just having a light snow flurry, first of today. Heavy one about to move in from NE

Must be just developing now as nothing on 11pm radar :)

There's a pattern emeging in the reports that leads me to, potentially, an alternative hypothesis. Skipton, however, might stretch to some of the higher hinterland.
