Extremely dark to the east of me - not seen anything like that to date :( Looks like the start of something, hope it's snow not rain!!!

Follow up

Had a nice blizzard 20 mins ago from those very dark skies mainly snow pellets . Good covering on the roads and cars but quickly melted

2nd snow shower in twenty minutes giving a light dusting. Lasted 5 minutes or so and thawing rapidly. The snow is more pellet in form indicating a relatively limited layer of lower unstable air, not thick enough to allow proper snowflakes to form.

The temperatures will drop away this afternoon, and the winds are starting to veer NNE. Hopefully the showers will become more frequent and push further inland.

FFO.

Sorry about the delay in posting these reports.

19 Feb - overnight snow pellets left a dusting early in the morning - melted away by 10.00am

21 Feb - 14.29 - quite heavy snow showers at present temp is 2c - giving temporary coverings until the sun melts it during breaks between the showers

There is a steady increase in the shower cloud cover and cloud depth - showers have become increasingly heavy during the last 2 hours.

Wind is light and variable between North and North East.

It's been snowing on and off in Lincoln all day, although the sun has been thawing most of it, but the snow still lays! ( thank god for a good covering last night )

Heavy shower right now, darkest the clouds have been all day. Sky is totally dark grey everywhere. I hope it lasts :)

Temp been hovering around 0-1c until now. It has just gone up to 2c.

Edit: Winds are NE at around 16km/h

Just had a 40 minute flurry - too light to settle on salted pavements & roads. It was proper snow though, none of your sleety rubbish.
