  1. Greetings all, I'm in the process of researching the rain shadow that's casts over Sheffield and its Eastern plains by the Peak District. I was hoping for direction to where I can find out more about this phenomenon? - resources/documentation I have lots of other questions also, for now two pressing ones I have are: How does the rain shadow effect change with the seasons? or more specifically How pronounced is the effect through spring and into the summer? 3. Hi Just to let you know that I've put together something about the winter of 1978/79 as I remember it in Sheffield in my latest blog. I've boiled it down to four main snowstorms, and have as usual provided plotted charts for each event: (1) 0600 UTC 4 January 1979(2) 1800 UTC 19 January 1979(3) 1200 UTC 15 February 1979(4) 1200 UTC 16 March 1979 Hopefully I've picked the high points of what was a very snowy winter.
