the radar for this part of the uk seems to constantly have a 'wedge' of weather being shown above Romsey, covering winchester, which is out of line, with the actual weather in that area.. for example today it is completely bright and dry in winchester . This seems to be an issue with the radar station itself at West Dean? . Is there a way you can check/ report this ? Many Thanks Alan

We've added a brand new feature to the weather radar on Netweather today, as well as the overlays for lightning and satellite images, you can now display live tweeted weather updates from twitter, making it the first social weather radar in the UK! If you're a twitter user, using one of the following hashtags (#ukice, #uksnow, #ukfog, #ukrain, #ukstorms) along with a postcode or geo-location info in your tweet will plot it onto the radar map so you can share weather updates for your location. http://www.netweathe...ion=radar;sess= This feature will also go live on the Netweather Extra radar tomorrow

It's been a while since we had any major news about the radar, so I thought today would be a good time to share some with you.. In short, although the V5 version of the radar is still fairly new and in it's final beta phase, we've decided to jump straight on to V6 and are currently working hard to put that in place. The new system will use the same mapping and zooms as V5 but will use newer technology to allow us to bring a number of new features - including many of the most requested ones from the feedback we've had on the V5 radar. I'll go into more detail on these new features and some of the other changes in the next few weeks (including a major announcement or two) but the one change I wanted to let you know about today is a change in our lightning detection on not just the radar but across the site. Very soon instead of our StrikeStar network we'll be changing across to use the ATD lightning detection system. Although StrikeStar has been great and provides a pretty accurate picture of lightning across the UK, we're always keen to improve what we can offer to our users and the natural progression is the ATD system which and gives even more accurate and sensitive strike detection. Stay tuned for further announcements and updates over the coming days and weeks, we're working really hard behind the scenes at the moment and are all really looking forward to bringing these new features and improvements online very soon!
