Please use this thread for your discussions about the current weather or what is being forecast for the next few days in the South East and East Anglia and remember although we are blessed with some members in this region who have great knowledge about the weather the majority of the members on here are simply enthusiasts with little or no technical background so you don’t need to understand charts etc to post in here just talk about what the weather's like where you are, the impact it's had on you today, why you love/hate it at the moment etc. it's these kinds of posts that the regional threads were designed for as well as a bit of chat and banter, after all we're British so the weather should be the number one topic for us to talk about, especially at the moment with so much of it going on ! If you do head for the coast in the coming days, be sensible and don't put yourselves or anyone else in danger, the power of mother nature is a beautiful sight it's also a destructive force and not to be messed with. I hope everyone stays safe and keeps up with the Netweather/Met office warnings for the coming days, if you have any concerns regarding flooding check out this link to see if your area is at risk: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/31618.aspx link to the previous one here.... http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/79259-south-east-englandeast-anglia-regional-weather-discussion-300114/page-64

Here we go folks....get ready to man the lifeboats there is more to come.... link to the previous thread here...http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78918-south-east-east-anglia-regional-weather-discussion-311213/page-41 and a reminder of the MetO warnings...... A further 20 to 30 mm of rain is likely in places and much of this could fall within a 6-hour period. Further heavy showers may move eastwards later on Saturday. The public should be aware of the risk of further localised surface water flooding and disruption to travel. This warning has been updated to include southwest England. Issued at: 1645 on Fri 3 Jan 2014 Valid from: 0005 on Sat 4 Jan 2014 Valid to: 1400 on Sat 4 Jan 2014 A developing frontal system will move northeastwards across England and Wales on Saturday. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, will move east across the UK on Sunday accompanied by strong winds. Quite widespread accumulations of 10-15 mm are likely across southern areas with locally in excess of 30 mm possible over some higher ground. This additional rainfall, following the recent very wet weather, means that the public should be aware of an increased risk of both surface water and river flooding as well as disruption to transport. This warning has been updated to extend the risk of disruption into Wales. Issued at: 1629 on Fri 3 Jan 2014 Valid from: 0900 on Sun 5 Jan 2014 Valid to: 2359 on Sun 5 Jan 2014 Another spell of wet and windy weather will affect the British Isles on Sunday as a new, large deep depression develops over the Atlantic Ocean. The associated frontal system is then expected to move eastwards across Britain, perhaps not clearing the far east and southeast until Monday morning. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?regionName=se&from=rss&sn=BD6FEB14-C89C-538D-EF92-57D0B61910FF_3_SE&tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1388793600

Please use this thread for your regional discussions about the current weather or what is being forecast for the next few days in the South East and East Anglia... Link to the previous one…. http://forum.netweat...3/page__st__820 Yellow Warning of Snow for London & South East England : Milton Keynes Yellow Warning of Snow for East of England : Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Rain is expected to turn to snow on Saturday, more particularly on high ground but with an increasing risk at lower levels. 5 cm or so could accumulate above 200 m in the Pennines, whilst ice forming on power lines in strong winds poses a threat of local power cuts. Ice on roads and pavements will also be a risk, especially in the north of the region. At low levels the main risk of snow is later in the day, and a lot of falling snow will melt on the ground, though some accumulations of a few cm here could not be ruled out. Valid from: 0300 on Sat 9 Mar 2013 Valid to: 2100 on Sat 9 Mar 2013 Cold air coming south and cutting underneath a frontal zone will bring the risk of snow and ice. Temperatures will be marginal for snow at low levels, and the ground has been warmed by the recent mild spell, though any sustained intensity could allow accumulations even to low levels. Winds on high ground could gust to more than 50 MPH increasing the risk of damage where rain freezes on power lines, especially over the north Pennines. http://www.metoffice...Time=1362787200 http://www.metoffice...Time=1362787200 Yellow Alert of Snow for London & South East England : Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth & Brighton and Hove A spell of sleet and snow is expected, starting on Sunday evening in SW England, and affecting southern England more widely on Sunday night and Monday morning. Snow will be accompanied by a strong easterly wind which will accentuate the very cold feel. Accumulations of 3 - 5 cm could occur quite widely over southern counties, and the public are advised to be aware of this wintry hazard. Valid from: 2000 on Sun 10 Mar 2013 Valid to: 2100 on Mon 11 Mar 2013 A low pressure system moving up from the Atlantic will come up against the influx of cold air from the north, bringing persistent sleet and snow. At the same time winds will increase, with gusts to 50 MPH on coasts and hills. At this stage there is uncertainty about how far north precipitation will push, and also the extent to which snow will settle on the recently warmed ground and this warning is likely to be updated. http://www.metoffice...Time=1362873600
