At present (13/02/2016), there is much reference in the Model Discussion thread regarding "Trough Disruption", and how an insufficiency of this phenomenon is likely to reduce the chances of lowland England seeing snow this coming week. I've done a quick internet search, and, from what I can see, it seems to be related to part of a trough becoming detached such that it moves ahead of the by now stationary Low and fills. Is this understanding correct, and, if so, what are the implications in this set-up? Thanks in advance.
