Virtually been non stop heavy rain and lightning since 7.30. Seems to be several cells around. One to the south, one to the west and one to the north producing non stop flashes reminiscent of that great storm a few years ago which was pennine based but well visible from here. Lightning picking up again just now. Best stuff seemed to be over Calverley / Idle way ?? Anyone verify?

Wow. Heavy snow here in Pudsey for the last hour and really starting to cover all surfaces well. Looking at radar we are / were in the sweet spot for this band. Was sunbathing and burning my balding pate only last Wednesday!

Light snow here for past half hour watching MOTD. Precip is spot on with radar; light but great to see. Temp 1.2c. Wind W 6mph.

Really..? Light snow from those showers here..? Certainly disagree with the end of Winter forecast. Cold in place is always good around here Joggs.!

Heavy snow shower here topping up the grass, pavements, car again. Temp 1.3c. Wind NNE 8.

Three or four really beefy snow showers this afternoon which were graupal initially around lunch. Walking around Swinsty Reservoir tomorrow afternoon and Timble Inn for tea. Wish that had been this afternoon..! Bet it was crazy up there...?

Beer ruler out for first time this winter and 6-7cm depth estimate. Impressive for a non exciting event. Good to know cold behind the front and Mon/Tues to look forward to.

Decent cover now of 1cm and snowing heavily. Enough for kids to get the scarf and gloves on outside and enjoy.

Have the faith Jed I'm slightly west of you. Just got a text from boys on way back from Manchester City match and the top of the M62 is crazy. Edit: Glad you have snow ;-)

Evening All, First post of winter and after an hour of lamp post perving, we now have some light snow coming down. Temp 1.2c. Wind NW 8mph. Not expecting much but great to see the white stuff.

Just heard a crack of thunder here. Looking south and dark clouds a coming although beer going down nicely on patio. Two storms yesterday around the same time and you Can't beat hot sunshine during the day and t-storms for tea. ;-)

Snow shower at present giving dusting. Off to Birmingham so will keep up with thread Yorkshire weather!

Hail shower at present. temp 1.2c. Looking like a shower on its way and a few tasty ones a le last nite / this morning too. Birmingham on 7am train for me so early start !

Woke up to a covering of graupal type snow. Just had a new very heavy shower if graupal / snow covering all surfaces instantly. Few more on the way I think.

Sorry for the food / drink craic. Getting back to weather. I have a feeling you guys will do well next 24 hours with the expected flow. We usually do quite well out of this type of set up in N/W Leeds so fingers crossed.

Heavy wet snow here now. Edit: Stopped! Haven't seen charts for a few days but snow potential from showers looking likely.

Just back from work and what a shower. Complete white out of hail / graupal. Edit: Horizontal stuff now mainly snow. Radar check soon I think

Heavy rain / hail shower here. Temp dropping obviously. Interesting little curls developing on radar towards the west. Radar / Lamp post in situ!
