  1. It is. Is still snowing here too (heavily). Should get 3/4 inches here before the snow stops.
  2. I've always wondered why people are so keen to keep average monthly temps down (as now). It seems that they'd prefer cold (but snowless) weather to mild weather, mainly because it reduces the CET figure. But why? One theory I have is that everyone knows (whether they want to admit it or now) that modern winters are becoming much milder (overall). People therefore hold onto the hope that present and future temps will fall, thus justifying either their skepticism in their minds (if they are GW skeptics, which seems quite common) or being a sign of a short-term cyclical change in UK weather patterns. Personally, I can see our climate/winters warming regardless. Of course, there will always be room for anomalies (like this year). I personally wouldn't mind a return to mild.
  3. Just started snowing here. Judging by the rainfall radar, just 1 hour/90 mins of snow awaits us though. Still grateful though.
  4. No problem. I'm interested in what anyone thinks. Defintely - I know Sawbo well. Is just a couple of miles.
  5. Sorry to repeat my post, but didn't type it probably first time round, and am dying to know what more knowledgeable people than me think about my chances.
  6. It's Bishops Stortford - East Herts (far Eastern border and about midway between north and south).
  7. What does anyone think of my chances of seeing snow tonight given that the following was observed in my area of Herts at 1500 hours: Temp: 3C Pressure: 1002 (falling) I live in Hertfordshire. Thanks.
  8. I hope so, as I am also in Herts. Good luck to the both of us (and others in the SE).
  9. Same here. It sounds like we might be living in the same town/area!
  10. What do you guys reckon will happen in Hertfordshire in the next few days (about 30-35 miles NNE of London?)
  11. Yeah, I think they are just worried that OTT forecasts will just further undermine public confidence in them. I don't think anyone really knows what will happen at this stage!
  12. On their latest forecast, the BBC (or was it ITV?) said that there was 'a chance of a few snow flurries' on Monday night/Tuesday for East Anglia. Has the snow forecast been severely downgraded, or am I missing something?
  13. According to the BBC forecast, my area will be on the edge of the snow band for most of tomorrow night (about 40 miles north west(ish) of london). I reckon it could be a close-run thing, even for those further South and East. I hope you all get some - if not, Monday night looks more interesting, as does Tuesday!
  14. According to the radars, the snow is missing me by about 1/2 a mile! Oh well, at least I have Sunday and Monday to look forward to.
  15. Hi. I've been browsing this forum for some time now without posting - this is my first post. I've been reading with interest about which places in the SE are being hit by snow (it seems there have been so many!). As I have found recent events exciting, I felt the urge to join and start posting! What would you say the chances of Hertfordshire being hit tonight/ Sunday night/Monday are? It just seems that we have missed most of the snow that other southern counties have had. Here's hoping.
