  1. We are nearly at 3" down here by the Strand.... and it ain't letting up just yet - if this carries on even the landrover may have difficulties getting me to work on time....
  2. We have freezing rain in Gillingham currently - the road surface on untreated side roads is lethal
  3. Barmybint Being one on your local Coastguards - the M2 Bridge is 27m above sea level, whereas Rochester airport is 123m above sea level - can you work it out from that? if not let me know your location (PM if necessary) and I will let you know.. Hope this helps Best Regards Bob
  4. Now raining quite heavily....... so i think you are right.....
  5. We sure did matey - still got a fair amount about albeit frozen solid on the paths and roads.... I was hoping that tonight's event would last a little longer than it did......

  7. 0119hrs - just started snowing in Gillingham with big wet flakes but getting stronger all the while.....
  8. just taken a photo on my phone but when trying to link the phone to the computer I get the "computer says no" message..... grrrr new phone too!
  9. Small world - I used to live on Princes Park when it was first built.... Funnily enough the Mrs went to a five car pile up right outside the Sherwood tonight at the foot of the hill by the roundabout.... The camera at Bluebell is not lying - it is coming down by the bucket load at Sea Level so up there it must be horrendous
  10. Large 50p bits of snow now and lots of it too..... With the wind coming up river at a fair rate of knots it seems to be bringing more and more.... What a lovely sight when i know I don't have to go anywhere until tomorrow night....... happy days!
  11. Upper bell now shut down and derelict..... the Robin Hood is still there and going strong..... in fact the Coastguard Christmas dinner is tomorrow night there..... Just got back home after a marathon drive to Bromley and back.... roads were not too bad in the four wheel drive, it is just the idiots who think they can drive on pavements and through slush at 60+ miles an hour (I kid you not...) The Mrs is in the Ambulance service and the motorways have been hellish in and around Kent.... (2 ambulances damaged badly in accidents.... Shhhhh!) I set off at 2300hrs and got back indoors at 0345hrs..... It is snowing moderate - heavy again in a 12kts ENE wind - most roads had turned to slush on the way home but now covering again albeit only slightly - I figure if this keeps up there will be major problems in the morning for the commuters .... Coming from Yorkshire in my formative years I am used to snow and lots of it - but since moving to Kent some 20 years ago, I haven't seen snow like this for about 15 years........
  12. very very light flurries in Gillingham, Kent presently

  17. Massive thunder storm over Gillingham at Moment Hailstones and heavy rain.... I have not seen a storm like this round here for ages..... most spectacular...
  18. You are not wrong about it being scary! I have never experienced such a sudden onset like that ever before. In Central London it hit us like a steam train and set all our fire alarms off with the pressure. One door on roof blown off hinges.... Oh what fun putting 900 people out into the rain......
  19. 1503hrs Local Thunder heard to the West of London Very humid - no rain yet!
  20. A very good friend of mine has sent me this photo taken above Cromer earlier, now being as thick as I am in regard to weather, can anybody tel me what is going on here, apparently there was some thunder and lightening involved. Thanks
