  1. "Snowing" in Machynlleth, but frankly a poor effort. Even the snowman's smile has thawed and it looks like a pathetic grimace. Roll on summer.
  2. woke up to a very wet Machynlleth. Only our snowmen from last Friday/Saturday remain now. Thoughts now turn to more important things as far as I'm concerned..."Hope it clears up for 6 nations eh?"
  3. any experts/enthusiasts care to give an opinion on if we'll see some snow in Machynlleth and Aberystwyth?
  4. temp in Machynlleth now 1.5C. Light wind now from SSE. Definatelly has the 'feel' of snow in the air, but I think we're in the clear of it as fairly bright skies, patchy cloud. Time to take the hat and scarf of the snowmen.
  5. I was born and bred in Trefeurig - parents still snowed in as the farm lane is about 4ft deep in snow! Road to Cwmsymlog passable with extreme care (in a tractor or on winter/all season tyres), rest of the roads ok.
  6. Fantastic! The King is here to help! http://www.torfaen.gov.uk/en/News/2013/January/21-Elvis-helps-spread-gritting-message-in-new-online-video.aspx
  7. Round 2? Can you please arrange for some power to be put into Mynydd Gorddu wind farm at Bontgoch to blow some towards Machynlleth?
  8. looking and feeling less like a snow flurry here in Machynlleth. Temp now steady at 2.3C, a light wind from the east. Some facebook friends in Aberystwyth reporting the odd shower of fine fine sleet/rain. However, we'll wait and see what the evening and early morning hours bring.
  9. Snowing rather nicely now in Machynlleth. Temp about 1.2C. Snow falling (Wind) is from the East. ((Sorry, I'm a complete amateur - the type that 'knocks the glass' (on the old barometer) every morning when anyone mentions snow - can't give you any more 'readings' than that...))
  10. What's the chances of getting some snow up our neck of the woods (Machynlleth, Mid Wales)? S4C weather bulleting putting the snow firmly over South East Wales, with Pembs getting a bit later on. Any expert amateurs care to give their views (I have 3 kids desperate to make another snowman)...?!!?!
  11. Machynlleth, mid Wales. Almost a complete thaw, some light rain, temps about 5-6C during the day. Fell to 3C, then we've had about an hour or so of steady snow between 1830-1930. left us half an inch or so of the white stuff, and has stuck on the tarmac. Temps now 2C. Seems to have stopped now, but very overcast, and guess the possibility of more to come. Seems that Llanidloes, Newtown way is getting the brunt of today's flurries in the Mid Wales region.
