We awoke this morning to nought in Kendal. Mostly fell in North Cumbria. Carlisle, Penrith, Appleby and as far south as Shap. A6 Kendal to Shap closed all day. Couple of showers in Barrow lunchtime ish......but nothing that stuck. But hey-ho, that's just they way it goes. Happy for those who have all the same.

What chances for Kendal tonight please?

Well so far nothing in Kendal with the exception of a couple of flakes. Wind has dropped too and doesn't feel that cold out. Jus t have to hope for something better later in the night.

Not seen any lightning, but heard several rumbles of thunder here in Kendal about 30 mins ago. Might struggle to see the lightning though with our outside Christmas lights flashing annoyingly.

Bummer, it's after 9pm, and the present Mrs. hates the BBQ being lit this late. Might cut the grass instead.

A valid point. no snow in Kendal, but Barrow and all along the coast to the north had heavy snow. Usually salt air prevents snow, Furthermore, very localised around Beckermet, Wigton, Silloth, Cleator Moor. Some areas a pasting, next door, nought. Happy for all that have got some white stuff, you are very lucky on this the second day of spring. Viva Da Blanco!

Absolutely nothing in Kendal. Temp 1.4C. Major non-event. Cancelled business trip to Edinburgh owing to forecasts/warnings. That's £2K lost today. Radio said terrible conditions, Police advising essential travel only. What a Giraffe. Roll on Summer I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad,

Only the odd flake now in Kendal. Can't see much happening later on as temps on the rise and winds dropping. Bit of a non-event here, even after the warnings issued earlier on radio. Happy for those who have had spme though.

Been snowing steadily in Kendal for two hours now, How long will it last though?

I am glad that you have had at least something. Barrow to Millom has had light crap all day with temps fluctuating between 0c and 3c.Nothing in Kendal at all I was told. Odd that it was on the coast only. The odd flake in Hawkshead too though. Kendal cloudy and 1.3c at the moment. Not had a hard frost yet here. We look to Friday but I feel won't be that spectacular in Kendal.
