  1. Hit us here in Horsham about 10 minutes ago as well, lasted around 5 minutes. Never seen it rain so hard!
  2. Much the same here in Horsham! Sky turning increasingly dark....
  3. Amazing levels of precip showing over ROI at the moment. This system certainly looks like it will pack a punch, but I guess the million dollar question is "snow or rain?" for most of us. Shall we flip a coin? It might be as good as any forecast we'll get from the Met or Beeb!
  4. We've got about 5 inches here in Horsham. Not even going to try getting to work (even though my office is only a 10 minute drive away, the joys of the internet mean I can work from home!). Currently snowing lightly, temp at 0.3 C
  5. Snowing steadily here - all settling nicely, filling in all the gaps where Friday mornings lot had melted. Nice and tidy again now :-) Temp 0.5C and looks like it's set to drop sharply when the sky clears.
  6. Why haven't the MetO issued are further update or flash alert on the low that is moving in from France? Looking at the latest radar, it looks like it could deliver as much if not more than we saw overnight.
  7. Looks like we missed the best of the snow overnight here in Horsham with approx 1 - 2 inches laying at present. Snowing lightly again now, but all eyes to the SE for the main event. Looks like we should be in the firing line for that one and it will absolutely cripple the travel networks which are already on their knees this morning judging by the news and reports on here...!
  8. Looking at the 18z charts, it looks like this current band of showers will continue to organise and track south westwards through Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, IOW and out into the channel. Should continue to give reasonable accumulations along the way - and to think THIS ISN'T EVEN THE MAIN EVENT!!
  9. The 22:00 MetOffce radar shows that this bunch of showers are starting to organise themselves into a much larger area of snowfall. Should be an interesting night
  10. Horsham, West Sussex, Lat/Lon = 51.08 -0.32 Current Temp = -2.2c Snowing lightly here and a covering of approx 1 cm.
  11. Do it! If you don't you may jinx it and several thousand net weather members may hold you personally responsible if the clouds don't produce the goods!!!
  12. Woah check out the traffic cams between J6 and J7 on M25 - almost whiteout conditions. http://www.keepmoving.co.uk/home_jamcams.aspx#mapSection A bit further south please?
  13. Just clicked on the M25 cam between J3 M20 Interchange and J4 Swanley between Well Hill and Crockenhill. Carriageway completely covered in snow. Literally saw an accident happen at the very same moment - check it out for yourselves, police on the scene already. Tomorrow is going to be a NIGHTMARE on the roads. Stay at home with your families people and enjoy it!
  14. Lightning strike picked up on this detector at 19:44 - not sure of accuracy of location but looks like out to sea just north of Herne Bay http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm
  15. Good work fella! Just down the road from you in Horsham and the sceene is much the same here. It's going to be a long night...
  16. I booked a day off tomorrow - typical it looks like we're going to get a pasting and probably wouldn't be able to get there anyway as we are based in the middle of nowhere!
  17. Hey all, first post here for a few years. Used to follow the forums closely when I had a job where I could get away with doing no work and browse these forums instead! Anyway, just looked out the window and we have a nice covering approx 1cm already. Still coming down, but looks like the best is yet to come going on the forecasts and current charts. I feel like a kid again
