  1. 23.4c our maximum. Perfectly warm but never too hot - and that's after sitting in direct sunlight in my office half the afternoon. Looking forward to a few sunny pints tonight!
  2. 24.1c max so far - utterly bang on perfect May weather! I'll bank this thanks!
  3. Without a doubt the best weather day so far this year. Not a cloud in the sky, feeling lovely and warm with a gentle breeze. 22.6c so far.
  4. Warmest day of the year so far finally beating March! 20.5c so far and rising nicely. Perfect!
  5. Ah at last - a proper gorgeous spring or even summer morning! Clear blue skies and already feeling warm at 16.2c. Overnight min was 10.5c. First morning with the heating off too although my house is still quite cool so felt warmer when I went outside! Hopefully today will rid the place of that infernal coolness it's had since last year usually only combated by burning tons of natural gas.
  6. It's just lovely out tonight it really is. The swifts are finally souring around although there isn't many of them. Usually we've had loads of them for at least two weeks now. Feels lovely it does despite the temp only reaching 17c. Tomorrow will get those temps back onto the right side of 20c and finally I might be able to turn my heating off!
  7. Horray - the sun is out! At long last we can have the office windows & door open without it feeling nippy. Fresh air & light = no headache! Looking forward to finally getting the chance to enjoy being outside again. Now if it can ensure to be around this weekend and the bank hol weekend then perhaps maybe I'll forgive the last 7 weeks of cold vileness...
  8. ^ Glad I'm not the only one been on the sauce tonight! (and high on the joy of incoming warm sunshine). But yeah now back them models from now on... 18Z on its way but will it have drank as much as we have?
  9. Well it goes without saying! Glad you've enjoyed it but its my turn now I'll hand back the reigns in late September... (heres hoping!).
  10. Laserguy in this country you are definitely better off than the hot sun lovers around! We're on the cloudiest places in the world and considerably cooler than anywhere else (in general) on our latitude in summer. Our winters days are extremely short too. I'd say think yourself lucky but to me it sounds like your condition is anything but luck... Still glad someone has enjoyed this vile couple of months!
  11. Grey all day but made it to 16c. Still felt cool though going to and from work. Ugh fedupness.com...
  12. GFS this morning has us under somewhat higher pressure squeezed between two lows to the west and east of us. Looks a bit unusual to me. Jetstream remaining to our south so I can't see anything that will bring us much warmth. Before that - chilly north easterlies...
  13. Now that is indeed a nice chart! That would be both sunny & warm. FI as things stand but certainly encouraging! Not convinced the high will be that far east just yet but fingers & toes crossed...
  14. I'd say the majority of those charts say to me - chilly and cloudy as they are dominated by NEly feeds. High pressure is around but mostly out to the west which leaves us on the cool side. We need to see high pressure build from the south east if we've any hope of more reliably settled sunny & warm weather.
  15. My complete guess - cool with showers. But then that's been the weather every single day since early April so a predictable guess! Or in true British fashion - a warm up that kicks off on the Wednesday after the holiday.Or maybe one that ends on the Friday before...
  16. As last night lets stick to the models and leaving the digs out of it. And perhaps those of you cherry picking half the information from charts that fit your hopes/desires/agendas would at least try to be convincing by backing things up with evidence and stop winding people up by being deliberately misleading. Healthy debate yes, annoying everyone else no - some people are trying to learn and find out information from this thread.
  17. I agree in principle we should run by sun time but it's too culturally ingrained that for most people, noon is no where near the middle of their waking day. Good luck changing it though!
  18. Yes the weekend was indeed nice and Sunday I actually *didn't* have the heating on at all! Admittedly we were running around gardening/cleaning but still it was nice to have the window cracked a bit and not be in centrally heated air for once. But a day like Sunday was a bare minimum for being warm enough - it wasn't sitting out weather unless in direct sunlight which came and went a lot, especially in the cloudier afternoon. And that was only one day!
  19. It's too cold for the time of year essentially. This is great early April weather but its two weeks from the start of summer with maxima around 12c. In itself a day like this would be fine even in mid May if there had been some warmth before it. It's costing a fortune to keep heating this late into the season - it's now a clear 7 and a half months since I had a period of not needing the heating on at some point in the day (back to early Oct) and that already short window we get in the UK for warmth is getting smaller & smaller all the time. You cool lovers don't know how good you get it!
  20. Heating on, coat on and a shivering ride home against the vile east wind. I cannot remember such a poor April & May as this. Normally I'm a big spring fan and enjoy the mix of cold Arctic feeds & showers in April then a warm spells and the arrival of light evenings. But this year we've only got the light and even that is tempered by the cloudy skies. At least we had a decent weekend so not quite as fed up as I was. But really - this is so unpleasant. If summer bounces back then maybe all is forgiven...
  21. Once again - stick to the MODELS please and cease the bickering! Any more OT posts will get deleted ok.
  22. Yes lately has certainly not felt warm as such but this past week it has felt much more akin to what this time of year should bring - some sun, temps in the mid teens with some rain at times. People are less fed up than they were a few weeks back when it was sunless all the time although of course many of us would like to heating to stay off at long last! Things are growing now as the sun has returned to power things. As TM says - it could be better worse!
  23. Can we stick to the models in this thread please and keep your enlightened theories about supposed change in our climate to a forum with a rather similar name...
  24. 6c min overnight and a glorious sunny start. Cloud built up mid morning onwards but we're still getting some decent sunny spells. 16.1c max but now 14.7c. Lovely day to be honest - much much better than most weekend days this last month of so! Good that the decent weather has come at the weekend this time.
  25. Well I like the look of those charts! But those things do seem to change quite a lot thought.
