Its snowing here.
Not sure i have seen all the forecasts so inconsistent in message for a long time. Ditto the above. Steady light snow in Hinckley for last hour or so. It makes it very difficult when trying to make decisions for business opening/ staff movements etc. In the end i have taken a cautious route today partly based on the info from this forum!

5cm of fresh snow in Burbage now. Looking at various models there is a suggestion this could go on until the morning? Anyone else agree? At that rate we could get another 10 cm.

Steady but very light snow in Burbage. Had about 1cm over the last two hours. Expecting it to increase after 12 .

Quite bizzare in Leicester. The snow is extremely powdery but it's settling. Normally fresh snow isn't slippery but walking conditions are ridiculous. Really slippery!
Agreed-Footsteps in the snow are quickly covered suggesting the powdery stuff is effective!

it has been a blustery powdery snow for hours now but it is slowly adding up. Over 5cm now and still going.

Burbage Sketchley Junior School closing at 1pm due to conditions.

Morning all-Burbage Calling!
Steady snow from about 9am, Started off as powdery and small flakes but larger flakes have fallen for the last half hour.
2cm has settled so far but everything that falls is sticking . Minor roads getting slightly awkward.
Schools have handed out leaflets to parents saying that they will text us if they need to close.Could get interesting if it gets heavier!

Il go by your measurements for tonight lol you sound like your actually measuring properly ive been estimating. based on the fact theres more of the heavier precip to the north west than the south east i think 10cms could easily be achievable.
My neighbour is attempting to get his car out for a take away as "they are not delivering"!! Hope you got your Chinese in...and yes i am doing actual measurements.Sad eh?!

Been much heavier in Burbage for the last half hour. Just measured at 6cm on the level. Looking at satellite i would hope for a further 3-4cm if not more.

4cm on level now and getting heavier. suspect the next hour could be interesting but would like some bigger flakes!

Burbage Leicestershire. precisely 3cm now (Just been out and measured!) That means that we have had 2cm in the last hour but it is still small flakes....just constant!

that definately cant be right 1cm?? theres like 3/4 here in hinckley. been into town an hour ago and most of the roads are covered
Just for you snow tornado i have been out with the ruler! Just over 1cm (about 12mm)

yea might be taking a trip upto burbage later myself not sure if the chinese would deliver tonight what you reckon?
Only light snow in Burbage. About 1cm settled. Chinese should be okay at moment!

What a brilliant start to the day, got up to walk the dog at 7am this morning to find a good top up of snow on the ground. All yesterdays foot prints completely gone and the canal ice is now covered by snow and looks like a road lol. The local fox thinks its great saw him last night walking down the canal on the ice, if he hadn't seem me and trotter off I think the chickens would be ex-chickens this morning.
Been snowing on and off all morning, big fluffy flakes followed by nice light blue sky.

Hi all-Due to the nature of my work i have access to weatherquest forecaster.They are still predicting over several inches of snow overnight in Staffs.Hope you get what you want!
