  1. Looks like Newcastle will miss out, unless some of those other showers finally make it inland. Looks decent for Sunderland and Washington though
  2. Seems to be quite a bit of activity again but the flow is getting slacker so the showers might struggle to come onshore now, at least until Tuesday. Looks like Sunderland is due one more at least this evening though
  3. There's a dusting of snow in Newcastle this morning as well. There's more significant activity in the North Sea pushing south so I think we could see some heavier showers as the day goes on. That matches with the precipitation charts yesterday showing the heaviest showers around the middle of today. There's some slightly milder air mixed in with the band that sat over Scotland yesterday so I just hope it doesn't turn to sleet later if the heavier stuff hits us.
  4. Yep and there's another one following in behind! A few flakes just starting in Newcastle now, the showers seem to be pepping up as they come inland
  5. Yeah I think that's probably about right. The precipitation charts seem to show the showers coming a bit more onshore tomorrow morning so presumably the low is expected to drift slightly southwards overnight.
  6. A few showers are drifting into Northumberland now, there's quite a sharp shower showing on the radar just north of Ashington There's a slight onshore wind now so I expect some places near the east coast to get a few showers overnight, although they'll probably not make it far inland given how weak the flow is
  7. Got a reasonable dusting at Warwick University on the edge of Coventry last night. Hardly anything was settling in Leamington when I left around 2am, so I was quite surprised to see this.
  8. Grasmere often seems to have more lying snow than Keswick - I assume it must be slightly higher above sea level than surrounding areas
  9. It did in Grasmere, but Keswick was completely clear yesterday in the town
  10. Looks like a decent snowfall in Keswick and Grasmere on the webcams
  11. It's been a long time since I posted in here, I've been so busy! Drawn back by the prospect of snow... The North East should have a good chance of snow as it's much easier to get convective snow from the North Sea than to rely on frontal snow, as the rest of the country will have to do. Unfortunately I'm heading south tomorrow to go back to university after Christmas - bad timing or what!
