    I think my point is that at the moment they swing wildly from run to run so not to take them too literally at that range. Edit: apart from our neck of the woods that’s pretty decent at that range , typical really

    That’s why there called the extended ? No point in sugar coating it, no one would have predicted a zonal storm from that chart.

    There a complete waste of time, of late anyway. They swing wildly from day to day and seem to follow the operation run into the extended outlook. They’ve been very inconsistent this winter.

    Well looking at the extended EPS an early spring certainly doesn’t look on the cards.

    And the reason for this is obviously linked to climate change IMHO as the temp gradient from the poles to the tropics is greater thus creating a stronger and more meandering jet stream.

    Absolutely, I think we’ve still got realistically 6 good weeks of potentially wintry weather to look forward to, except next week of course i wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with a cold UK high in a week or so time and after that it’s anyones guess.

    Let’s face it, an easterly is much more common in Feb/March than it would be in Dec or Jan for example. So maybe this time it should be given a little bit of consideration.

    Morning All. I’m certainly not seeing the correction south that a lot of people were predicting yesterday, maybe the met office and the beeb got it right after all. This time tomorrow we’ll know for sure
