It’s much easier when you try to be realistic…anything 5 days out can change in the blink of an eye
Yep, took me 15 years for the penny to drop…….always was a slow learner. Lol

This is the first year, I’ve been thinking this ,it’s probably crept up on me, I used to get excited with the model thread and believe that what I saw and read was going to happen, but now after 15 years on here, the climate is changing , new technology and the super Met Office, deep dive on YouTube my visits here are becoming less. From your full-time lurker from now on .

The way I see if the models are showing deep snow, there may be a chance we get a dusting if it’s going to be historic we might get an inch lol.

Regarding snowy delights come next week, its still out for debate, but whatever happens, it’s certainly looking very cold with day times temperatures at 1s and 2s by mid week anything is better than wet and mild for us coldies
I agree with your sentiments , but with all the talk in the model thread of snow and below temperatures, now just below cold spell and may be a bit of snow. Fingers crossed maybe one spell this winter can be memorable.

There are trends, but the longer those time periods which you’re analysing the tends within extend, the less reliable or ‘probable’ they become.
A wise man once said in a model output discussion:
“The stronger the desire to see snow on the horizon, does not bring clouds to the sky, rather it brings clouds to one’s judgement of the models”
Yes, grasshopper
