    That last frame is better than this mornings. There's more amplification around Greenland so the heights would have a better chance of building ne?

    The UKMO has a wedge of heights in the mid atlantic like the GFS, but it doesn't amount to anything.. i'm hoping it can have a bit more influence in future runs:

    It's fine for somebody to come and say " it wasn't too bad imby" - it's comments like "that wasn't a storm" which is annoying and especially for those that were impacted the greatest. It p***** me off and the winds didn't really affect me personally.

    Just because it didn't impact your area as much doesn't mean it wasn't a storm. Should we not consider the great storm of 87 a storm just because it had a greater impact in the south?

    Indeed, and also people need to stop with the constant " it's all hyped up" or " i've seen worse". That is the reason why they put warnings out.

    Bloody hell! .. My chimney is big that if it came down I imagine it would cause a lot of damage to my roof.. There must have been lack of maintenance done on it. I've been thinking of getting rid of my one to save money in the long run.

    Seems we're going to have to get through this period of strong jet to the NW for a few more weeks before anything decent happens; at least there's no endless rain being shown on the models- I reckon the first week of Feb things will start to improve judging by the models. The KMA goes crazy at the end by splitting the blob into little bits over the arctic:
