  1. Yep. The final 8.15 this eve. One of my mates has Luke The Nuke at 80/1, pre-tournament.
  2. Heavy rain all morning but it cleared in last hour or so. There was hardly any wind this morning but in last 20 mins it's turned extremely windy.
  3. Depends where you live re water shortages. If you're in an area near to a constant water source, like here, there's never issues re long dry periods. Our area gets its water from a decent reservoir infrastructure, but more importantly from sources in the Welsh moutains, hills and the source of the Severn. Stating the bleedin' obvious, as well, is the population density issue, which London and the SE have to deal with.
  4. Been thinking much the same, lately. Big John Holmes has always said, for years, that peeps should only compare like-for-like e.g. 06z run with 06z run 24 hours earlier, NOT 06z v 12z from same day. Still, after the dullfest and rainfest of last couple of months looks like we're in for a quiet period, with perhaps some sun, albeit colder, from this weekend for a week or so. A welcome respite from the doom, gloom and incessant wet stuff.
  5. Looking at Sean's tabs no surprise, for here. It's been dull, dreary most days. Although, the Meto's station at Almondsbury is 'just up the road' from me, it shows 5 hours more sun than the 'Bristol' one. If the Bristol station is the guy's in Horfield i doubt there's a 5 hour difference, in reality.
  6. It's been a conveyor belt of really heavy downpours here, all day today. Oh, for a dry week or two. Edit: and now, at 15.30 it has gone so dark, it's like night time
  7. "Better July"?! Really?! June turned out pretty good here, bar the 1st week. July was damned awful.
  8. 8c, lashing it down....again. Dark and dreary. OFAH on Gold to lighten the mood.
  9. Yep. Could do with a few bone dry days, for sure. That's about it, though.
  10. I can see it now, Pete. The wine makers drop the size of a bottle from the current 750ml to One pint=568ml. But Charge the same price as today's 750ml bots. Ching ching for producers and retailers. I bet Rees-Mogg didnt think of that, eh?
  11. One of the key themes in the Totally Bonkers thread in last day or so is that extreme cold is building in Russia and Scandinavia. Hmmm..... So let's analyse this Well, it's late December, approaching the heart of Winter and extreme cold is showing its hand in countries, where, would you believe that during the Winter months, in most years, the climate is Brass Monkeys during.... Yep, you guessed it....the Winter. Insightful, eh?
  12. 12c and the monsoon has just swept in here; not monsoon-like temps though Torrential rain. Thoroughly miserable weather
  13. Agreed. "Most likely to be rather cold" - hmm, so 'normal' for January. If we (imby) go from 12c (last few days) to, say, 6c then it's colder, but not below average for January.
  14. There was a bee buzzing around outside our living room window this afters. A little cooler today though at 8c, compared to 12c yday.
  15. 12c, raining, windy, dark. Must be one of our dullest Decembers IMBY. Somehow i have to get some room in the fridge for the bots of lager for tom's big day. Was hoping it would be a 4 or 5c day so beer could be stored outside.
  16. Are you there for Christmas and New Year? Not jealous at all
  17. Good for lack of disruption for fam travelling over Christmas but Bad for storing the beer outside.
  18. Sun's popping out now; first time in over a week i reck.
