  1. Trouble is TS is that big 'blob' out of London is forecast to head sw towards IOW. Still think we'll miss any snow tonite. The BBC24 forecast now is confirming that, but tom eve looks better than earlier today. But Sky News just now still goes for northward progression and not much westward movement
  2. Nice one, TS! The weather forecast after BBC1 news 30 mins ago seemed to show snow further west for tomorrow night, after earlier forecasts were showing us on the 'edge' for tom eve, so maybe a promising trend for us!!
  3. Peter Gibbs on BBC weather just now, showing main band of snow heading right for you in next few hours! Enjoy!
  4. Just seen Peter Gibbs on BBC1 after the news and that snow for tomorrow afternoon/eve seems to have changed direction again. Going north as earlier today, yes, but also more westwards towards Bristol and s.wales. This really is going to be a knife edge event for us in the west and s.wales tomorrow. seems to be changing with each forecast! A nowcast event for tomorrow. I'll have to have that radar minimised in work tomorrow
  5. Yep! Just started snowing in Stoke gifford. Very light. For those of you outside of BTL, this is North BTL. Edit, 2 mins later: Blimey, that was brief!
  6. As i said earlier this afternoon, i'm really concerned about west country and s.wales snow chances now. After seeing the BBC news weather 30 mins ago i just think we're going to miss out, even tomorrow eve. The trend for our areas has been a definite downgrade in last 12 hrs. sorry to be a prophet of doom and gloom! It was only 48 hrs ago that it looked like we were going to profit the most from snow!
  7. Just posted in snow and cold thread. Watched news24 weather update at 16:57; it was a new forecast. Looks like we're not getting anything tonite and tomorrow for most of the day. The earlier forecast had snow showers on and off for most of monday, followed by heavier snow for mon eve, for BTL and the west. Not convinced we're going to get much.
  8. Yeah. Someone posted a radar shot on the Midlands thread just now and the n.midlands is full of heavy snow showers! But it looks like it's heading into mid-wales
  9. Decided to head across the bridge rather than down the M5 then!
  10. Nothing here in north bristol; in fact it's sunny! Just posted on another thread is a radar snap from 3.00pm and it looks like this afternoon's action in the midlands and south east is going to miss us. Hopefully it'll develop more through the next few hours though.
  11. Nothing here in north bristol; not far from you; about 7/8 miles across the bridge. Just looked on meto radar and the snow currently in the north midlands looks to be heading west, so prob heading for mid-north wales rather than south west to us i'm afraid.
  12. Hope you're correct BB! Cloud cover here in north bristol at the mo is not particularly thick or low. I'm not expecting much to be honest until the morning. Tomorrow eve looks best, but even that looks marginal for us in terms of heavy snow. That main band is forecast to go north through the midlands
  13. Nothing really expected until later tonite and tom for the BTL area. Even then i'm wondering if we will only get the 'edge' of the main snowband tom eve. Fingers crossed though!
  14. Agreed Nick. I'm concerned for our area, BTL, which a day or so ago looked like we were right in the firing line.
  15. I hope you are proved correct. It's just that forecast a few mins ago seemed to indicate main snowband to move north for tomorrow eve, through the midlands. Bristol, SE Wales on the edge.
  16. But that was on the edge of the main snowband that is forecast to move north through the midlands. hopefully it could still change.
  17. Shame it's not a 100 miles south or so; that would be good for all of us and prolong the snowy spell. I'm a little unconvinced at the mo that we in the West will get much snow. Just watched the weather on news24 and there's snow for SE england tonite and monday morn, but our part of the chart is a definite downgrade compared to an earlier forecast an hour ago. Then heavier snow for SE tomorrow adfternoon/eve but then moves north. I think it's NOT looking too good for West country and wales IMO.
  18. Michael, things will be marginal right up to the last minute IMO. Tomorrow night looks our favoured time, but whether we get a dusting or dumping is anyone's guess!
  19. Yeah! And the models looked more favourable for us only a day or so ago.
  20. Noticed on the Model Output Discussion that everyone is concentrating on the end of the week. What's the score re. monday and tuesday for BTL?
  21. Beginning to think this has got a bit marginal, whereas 24 hrs ago i would've said "Very much game on!" for BTL.
  22. And it has!!...if you believe the 12z GFS. Looks v.marginal now for our neck of the woods and only a 1-day affair
