Switch to Virgin if your area allows. I rarely get issues with internet (or TV). Dont even need a landline either.

  2. This dreadful Spring has put paid to Newbury races this w/e. Hotel and raceday tickets booked 5 months ago for tomorrow. We were so looking forward to day at the races and night in hotel. Me and wife gutted!

Hilton deal. Usually comes with strings attached, and to be fair i knew that when i booked. We've stayed there loads of times in last 20+ years so we know the score.

We've decided to go to Newbury. The racecourse beer festival is still on - they have shed loads of Ales and ciders to get rid of. Entry is free; it's £2/pint. Live bands. Midday til 6.  Then in the town afterwards, for dinner, etc. Night in the hotel. Life's too short!

On tickets, yes. Hotel no, as cheap deal and non-refundable. I love the races so it's more about missing the races and night out after than losing the money.

Removed. I thought gift receipt would be enough as it would find the original purchase code and match up. Debenhams store manager also refused. JLP would've accepted. That's why JLP are top dept store in the UK.

The reason i took the free trial was because they offered me free speedy package delivery. But as soon as the Prime email came in i cancelled as i had no intention of using Prime.

I took a free trial last April but as soon as the registered email arrived I cancelled straight away. To be fair to Amazon it's made quite clear in the original email. I guess though that they don't send a reminder near end of free trial period to ask if you want to cancel it.

Turkey. Tried to persuade 'the boss' to go for goose to no avail. Just bought a nice rib of beef this morning in our local farmshop to 'sit' alongside the turkey on Christmas Day.

Didnt Ricky Gervais make a joke at one of his shows a couple of years ago about someone in the audience who was wheelchair-bound? He seems to have thrived since.

I only have VM's basis b'band speed of 50mb and most days it does reach that, to be fair. I dont download much at all re films, etc, so the increased speeds will not really register with me.

  15. Proof that 'aunty has truly gone insane...Songs of Praise will be coming from the 'Jungle' in Calais hosted by Aled Jones at a makeshift church and featuring loads of wannabe illegal immigrants, hopefully if Aled sings loud enough they'll head back!

Amazing how the French allow them to travel right up to the northern tip of France, knowing full well destination UK is their goal. If they're illegal in France why dont the French do something about it way way before Calais?

Oh really?! I was hoping for uninterrupted sun and blue skies until September. Genuinely. Loved the settled days lately, esp sat in garden after work for an hour in the early evening. Makes me feel good.

I've voted Tory all my voting life. See no reason to change. Labour are the party of the envious and i can't abide those kind of sentiments. Tories 'reward' the aspiring masses; Labour just want to grab.

Sounds great. We've been to Vegas 3 times and stayed at the Luxor twice. Decent place - cheaper because at the quieter end of the Strip but does the job. I've always wanted to watch one of the big fights in Vegas. One day maybe. Enjoy!
