  1. richie3846 yep. Which is highly unusual for me. I abs hate DIY, with a passion. Despite retiring (early) over 7 years ago i've done v little, myself, in terms of jobs inside and outside our gaff. But i got it in my head back end of Winter that during Spring i'm going to do a few things. 2 jobs left outside, regrouting patio and painting the fence. Off to Fuerteventura in 2 weeks time, for 10 days, so whether i finish planned jobs before then ....hmm, we'll see
  2. Sun's come out in last 30 mins, only 10c but feels pleasant enough in the sun. Just giving our outsde sidegate a final paint, so weather is v useable
  3. 9c and steady rain. Grim. Complete contrast to the weekend
  4. Clear blue skies, but only 12c. Up early to paint our iron gate, so another useable day
  5. At last, a shower. Kinda puts me out of misery, just sat around. Damned forecast though - i could've done the job this morn at 9.30 and by now the seal would've been fine.
  6. ANYWEATHER yeah, i have been doing that and it shows a few light showers poss hitting here around now, but at mo my eyes say "maybe not".
  7. We were meant to have showers this morning, so i'm sat inside house instead of sealing the patio. But it's 'kin dry with sunny spells and some cloud. So, do i wait another hour and see what materialises OR do i just get on with it? If it showers later the stuff will run or go white spotty.
  8. Erm, last Spring (2023) was pretty awful here, and Summer 2023 wasnt great, with a 'filling' of a dreadful July.
  9. Alderc 2.0 it has been the last week, certainly here. Quite a few outside jobs done
  10. Not a bad day here, with sunny spells and just the odd light shower. Temp topped 14c this afters; still a bit of a chill wind but very useable this afters in the garden for a few jobs. Just a typical April day me thinks. Fingers crossed it warms up to a poss 16/17c this weekend.
  11. CryoraptorA303 ours has been totally off for about a week now and i dont intend to put it back on until late October. It's already down to 11c outside and a chill wind, but house has stayed warm due to decent sunshine last couple of days, plus we do have a small window open in living room right now and small windows open upstairs.
  12. Sunny with high wispy cloud. 14c, but feels warmer in suntrap back garden, although breeze has a distinct chill to it. Still, been a decent weekend for approaching mid-April and very useable in terms of getting stuff done tidying the garden, brushing in dry kiln sand for front block paving and finishing treating and jetwashing patio in prep for re-pointing it this coming week.
  13. Beautiful here, a bit breezy, but perfect for approaching mid-April, temp of 15c.
  14. Topped 20c. We've had full sun for a time. Sunny periods and clouds now. A decent day though and yet another different day compared to some this April. Today continues the 'typical April weather' theme seen this month i.e. varied.
  15. Yet another dreadfully inaccurate local tv forecast yday eve from MetO. I was up early doors, a quick jetwash of patio (prob annoyed the neighbours). Sprayed the black spot remover all over, smells like a swimming pool out there at the mo. 10.30 restart to brush the water/substance mix and then a final jetwash, but it's 'kin heavy drizzle. Remind myself to keep extension lead socket part under patio table
  16. Hopefully, just dry tomorrow, little wind and no rain. Not bothered about the sun tomorrow as i plan to give the patio a proper jetwash but using black spot remover first, so need it to work its magic first, before scrubbing and power washing it. In fact, conditions look ideal for the job tom morn.
  17. Grey, damp, raining, only 10c. The very typical April continues with alternating days of good and bad weather. From tomorrow it doesnt look too bad for a few days and poss well into next week, with one or two interruptions. April is a very varied month, weatherwise; always has been, so little change, historically, imho.
  18. CryoraptorA303 havent noticed that myself. Various periods throughout my 60+ years have seen long wet spells and long dry spells.
  19. raz.org.rain typical April in the UK really. I found a weather website the other day showing historical summaries of April over last 120 years or so. It's really stark how varied Aprils can be, either the 30 days in any one year OR by looking at Aprils over many years. Yeah, really varied, weatherwise and it seems forever so. In reality, there's been v little change to our climate here, in the UK. Perception can be deception.
  20. I thought it was all down to a particularly powerful El Nino, this last year or so.
  21. 16c at 05.50 on 6th April. Phew, what a scorcher
  22. Grey, 12c, drizzle. March 2024, for the area, as told by our local Meto guy on local tv last night. 74% of normal March sunshine levels 124% of 'normal' rainfall Above average temps, to which my wife exclaimed "Really?!" EDIT: Drizzle quickly replaced by driving rain
  23. 12c, sunny with clouds. Pleasant enough at the mo, but threat of showers by looks of it.
