If you forget about the couple of spits of rain I noticed at one stage early evening, yesterday actually managed to be a rare dry day but today looks like normal service will be resumed with a good chance of showers at some stage. The day has already gone downhill with sunshine at 7 o’clock turning into cloud and murk within the hour and I can’t see much of an improvement from here on. hopefully it will stay dry for the walk to and from the football this afternoon but with something on this morning, I just hope that Sunday gives a dry slot so I can cut the grass before the second cut becomes as bad as the first one a week or so back. then to really rub our noses into it, a chance of snow on Monday and Tuesday. sorry but if can’t have it in the first three months of the year, I don’t want it in month four.

HafrenLMP1 my idea of high stakes gambling is a couple of pounds each way but we usually do a couple of Haydock evening racing and music events with friends who live within walking distance of the course. as you say, queues for everything and and by 10pm it’s pretty lively from those who have been on the pop since it opened but if paying through the nose for warm beer in plastic glasses is your thing then I suppose there are worse ways of spending a decent mid summer evening.

Even by the standards set over the last few months, today has been a vile day. heavy, at times torrential rain since mid morning and for much of the time it was being blown horizontal by the wind. certainly not knocking the Met office but we’ve had warnings issued for conditions that didn’t come close to what we had at times today. thoroughly unpleasant is probably the most polite way to sum it up and I’m just glad that we had a couple of dry hours yesterday to clear the remains of the fence panel blown out over the weekend as It would have been scattered over the town by now. new ones come tomorrow so please can we have a reasonable day so I can get it fitted before the next mid winter storm arrives

A bit of a shower at work this afternoon but dry other than with a bit of sunshine at times so with the weather bar set so low, not a bad day in the end. got an overnight in Blackpool at the weekend so hopefully it will coincide with the high winds and some serious high wave watching, something I haven’t witnessed for many years. just need the rain to keep away.

What a horrible days weather up here. rain throughout the morning turned seamlessly to showers this afternoon and every time it looked like clearing, another even heavier one arrived and it didn’t eventually stop until teatime. even now it’s wall to wall cloud and our sunshine total can be counted in minutes on one hand. I’ve been looking at the weather for far to many years but even. I cannot remember as long a period of depressingly wet conditions as this one has been.

Not a bad day up here, cloudy misty start but a bright afternoon and crucially it stayed dry so the mower has been out to give the grass its first chew and clog up of the season. even by the usual standards, this time has been brutal but at least it’s done now and vaguely resembles the type of lawn that a gardening programme would take pity on. I just hope that the next six months of cuts are a lot easier and that the grass is a lot drier.

I wasn’t taking that much notice of Mondays weather a couple of days ago but wasn’t the rain supposed to affect Southern parts with a decent day expected up here. now it’s looking like a Northern England and north Midlands washout with the rest of the country drier. Asking for a frustrated friend who, after a weekend doing inside jobs had outdoor plans for Monday

severe snowstorm same here. gave up at about 2pm but that’s after a 7am start so not a bad effort on a day that was better suited to outdoor jobs. Managed a couple of afternoon beers but couldn’t be bothered with any more so back home again now but even though I could easily do a bit more wall papering, with my eyes and the beer, I think it’s better left until tomorrow.

Lovely start to the day in the sense that it’s not raining and the sun is increasingly poking through the haze. still a bit of mist of the tops but this looks to be burning back and given that it’s still early, a decent day for anything outdoor looks to be on the cards. a morning of decorating for me and then the rest of the day is mine and if the weather holds, a few beers and a bit of watching traditional Lancashire clog dancing, not that I’ll be doing any of that myself but I’ll help with the beer drinking if asked whatever you are up to, enjoy.

Beefier showers this afternoon with a decent mixture of rain and hail but still plenty of blue sky and sunshine in between. No thunder as far as I’m aware though but another decent convective day and pretty typical conditions for the time of year. Thankfully tomorrow is looking better and with us actually being at home on Easter Saturday, an opportunity to spend the afternoon watching the Coconutters and a few beers around the town.

Dry start but the forecast doesn’t offer much hope of it staying that way throughout the day. looking better tomorrow and Sunday although no doubt the weather gods will be leaving no stone unturned to give our region the lions share of any rain on offer but given the relentless crap of the last few months, even a decent two days out of the four would be a good effort, certainly for anyone with outside plans.
