  1. This is one forecast they got right. heavy rain all morning here and rivers are full to bursting.
  2. Another very wet day on the cards here tomorrow if the forecast is to be believed.
  3. Heavy snow now but not really sticking other than on the cars and grass. probably a different story further up the hill though.
  4. One warning area i’m glad that i’m not looking like getting an invite to. just don’t fancy a few cm of wet slush but up here I wouldn’t be surprised to see something.
  5. We got one but by 8 o’clock it had all disappeared as cloud moved in. rain pretty much constant since mid day and hammering on the conservatory roof a few minutes ago. all in all a poor day.
  6. At this time of year these systems can correct south as much as they wan’t for me. whilst the late March 2013 event was pretty spectacular around these parts it was also exceptional and i’d Imagine for every repeat of that, we’d have a dozen with nothing but marginal sleety crap at best. sorry but i’m laid up at the moment watching cold rain peeing down outside and the thoughts of some spring warmth is one of the few things cheering me up.
  7. Yeah i’m getting a bit fed up of having snow in March, especially when winters usually fail to deliver. all I want now is light evenings, some warmth in the sun and generally usable conditions.
  8. Snow on the Fylde Coast, who’d have thought it.
  9. Problem is that i’m at my worse laid in bed or laid down on the couch. hopefully the antibiotics will start to kick in and i’ll start to feel a bit better tomorrow though. one thing is for sure, it’s a flu jab for me next winter if this is what it ends up as.
  10. As bad as ever again now but after a couple of doctors appointments and a chest X-ray, at least I know i’ve got a dose of Pneumonia. it doesn’t make me feel any better but at least I don’t have to worry that I feel like crap from just a cold.
  11. They won’t usually give them for flu unless you’ve already been measured for your coffin. the chesty crap came afterwards and they tell you to let it go by itself but if it doesn’t go pretty sharpish they’ll have to give me something
  12. I couldn’t get an appointment until the following week so other than the two minutes the receptionist spent convincing me to stop being a drain on the NHS and just grow a pair it’s ended up being plenty of rest and strong tablets from over the counter. 3 day’s is the longest time i’ve been off work for 20 years though so whatever it was, it’s a nasty little sod.
  13. Yeah you couldn’t make it up. i spent the best part of the warmest days in bed with flue and couldn’t decide whether to shiver or pour with sweat. now the damp weather has done its best to make a nasty chest infection even worse. at least it was an excuse to stop in today.
  14. Winds getting up here but chicken and veg always has that effect on me.
  15. I was there with work that day and expected an absolute stuffing but staggered away from OT with a smile wider than the Ship Canal. doubt that Heaton will ever have a finer day as Burnley keeper but with him in goal we are so much better as a unit and take games to sides who on paper, are so much better than us. Anyway good luck for today and the remainder of the season and we’ll concentrate on getting the two or three wins needed to see us sat at the posh table again next season.
  16. Crew you’re not letting that one drop are you Since our mauling against Everton we’ve showed up against everyone we’ve played whether home or away and that’s why we’re on the longest unbeaten run of anyone in the Prem other than yourselves. what it’s worth, I hope yours carries on tomorrow and before the seasons over maybe we can show up against Citeh, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
  17. After a decent weekend today has felt pretty damn cold and raw again. not quite a shock to the system but it’s a good reminder that we’re still a long way from spring yet.
  18. Aye it’s been a decent few days and i’ll gladly take another couple of weeks like this before the proper heat arrives in March for those of us old enough to remember, this time 40 years ago couldn’t have been anymore different with probably the coldest snowiest February i’ve ever seen.
  19. That’s pretty warm although up here it it’ll no doubt be cloudy with torrential drizzle and not get above 97c.
  20. I was that busy watching your lot rip Chelski a new one I didn’t even realise rain for on its way or that it could be sleety. that said though it felt pretty cold out walking this afternoon
  21. Dare I say, at least it will be mild or did you overdo the spices
  22. Hopefully we’ll be doing the same at teatime for the football.
  23. It looks like there is plenty of firewood blocking roads around here this morning for anyone with a chainsaw and a truck. I just hope that my fence panels aren’t adding to it.
