  1. Same here but looks like there’s going to be plenty of potential to clear off the drive again this week. at least it’s easier to move than snow.
  2. Agreed, it looks unlikely that it will reach the Pennines and will probably fizzle out before then, could even be one of those rare occasions where those west of the M6 do better than those to the east. never mind though, at least there are likely to be plenty of chances during the coming days, whatever the direction they come from.
  3. I think most of us will be lucky to get 15mm out of that front, hardly warrants a Met O warning i’d imagine.
  4. Damn slow progress looking at it, from an IMBY point of view I hope it gets another 50 miles before stalling. that said it doesn’t look heavy, probably nuisance value really.
  5. Yeah I was going to see if you could get your machine down Moki but in the end we did it by hand. missus likes a bit of gardening and is pretty good with a wheel barrow. it took pretty well all week to finish but she managed to catch up with the soaps that weekend so it all worked out in the end. Doing the retaining wall for the water feature and the little foot bridge was a bit of a task though, especially mixing everything by hand.
  6. It’s lovely her now, Di Ox said thankfully i’d miss the worst of it and what I had would soon melt as the sun came out again.
  7. Thankfully we didn’t have it as bad as you boys then. must have just caught the edge of it.
  8. Interesting comparison and i’d happily swap seeing no more snow in 2018 for us to finish the season no lower than we are. i think a few on here wouldn’t be happy though.
  9. I think the negativity is not to what the models are showing, it’s the fact that this winter, classic synoptics have usually ended up as downgraded rubbish. hopefully this time will be different. meanwhile my snow shower has been and gone but at least they are crossing the Pennines.
  10. Frosty sunny start but then it clouded over and now it’s snowing hard. Probably only a brief shower but unexpected all the same.
  11. I’d take that in a heartbeat but after a winter of last minute downgrades i’m not getting the sledge out just yet.
  12. What looked like snow has now ended up as the usually crappy sleet.......horrible.
  13. Light but steady snow here, a long way from being disruptive but sticking and certainly an improvement on this winters usual sleet and cold rain.
  14. Cheers mate, Sam has certainly pulled it around for you boys after the start you had.
  15. In fairness I think it’s the mention of sleet that makes it depressing. lunchtime kick off at footy tomorrow will be grand walking from the car to Turf Moor in the snow, horrible in the same wet flakes of crap that seems to have been common this season.
  16. I think Saturdays was never going to be more than light and patchy although it could give some snow if conditions are favourable. The one on Monday is the one to watch.
  17. Weather fronts stalling over the spine over the region. i’m sure I remember these from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s but unfortunately they are a much rarer beast these days. maybe things are about to change.
  18. Still snowing steady here and settling, probably about 3cm now.
  19. Only looked out after reading that and i’m surprised how much has come down in the last 20 minutes. must be a couple of cm and it’s still snowing pretty hard.
  20. Finally got a covering here now. maybe leaving the cars on the road was the right decision, especially if it freezes later in the night.
  21. More thundersleet, what a memorable winter this is turning out to be.
