    Some of you Aussies may have seen that low out in the coral sea. Just having a low on the charts now, BoM are predicting it to drop down to around 997hPa on Saturday, while slowly (Very slowly) moving towards the coast. The sea temps are nice and toasty, and I'm wondering whether to bother putting my pool cover back up. Any predictions? Cheers, Dan <_<

    Been searching for a little while, I can't seem to find any internet radio streams. I guess our best bet would be to keep an eye on the youtube updates. Maybe more people will start recording once it gets closer, I'm sure there's alot of people that want to see what this cyclone does, including me!

    Going by the wind map it appears most of the wind is out on the sea side of the cyclone. There is about 10 video's of hamish on youtube right now, and there are 1-2 people updating every few hours on it. I am going to be following along, untill they loose power I guess These guys for example, just behind Hayman Island

    Well, it's now officially upgraded to category 5 :o 295km/h gusts near centre! I'm sure NO ONE wants to be hit directly by this thing! :o

    Wouldn't call that yet, BoM has forecast it to hit category 5 by 7am tommorow (Sunday) :o This is one heck of a cyclone, now i'm glad it has passed me! :o

    Been watchin this since day 1, and only just realized we (Cairns) are now within the strong gale force wind boundary, forecast for around 1pm Saturday. Getting ready for this one now

    Been having a few cool looking "storm fronts" (Mainly rain), coming from the monsoon trough nearby. They usually pop up at around 4pm in the afternoon. Haven't seen many of these in Cairns, but they are very long! Weird shot with lighter clouds behind the dark ones. EDIT: Found another one on the camera, a bit of a closeup of the one this afternoon

    4 low in a week! This is crazy! :lol: We're gettin a fair bit of rain here, not as bad as Ingham tho. Last weekend it was very windy here in Redlynch, but it seems it was the only area in Cairns that was affected by the wind. You would have almost thought it was a mini cyclone! I guess the mountains behind us had alot to do with it, ie, all the air rushing to the low (TC Ellie at the time) Strangely enough, I find cyclones exciting

    Uhh ohh, i'm in the firing line for "cyclone Charlotte" (If it actually comes to be a cyclone, its a tropical low as of this moment), as of 4pm EST of the 10th, its so far only classed as less than a category one, though it's been said that it should become a cyclone tommorow/Sunday some time. BoM has said centre winds are around 45km/h, which isn't all that powerful, but it will be interesting to see what it does over the next few days.

    Wow, a tornado?!?! Crazy man, very nice pics! Some weird lookin clouds in the last report Theres some lightning flashin around the skies as I type this, but the storms are dying down once they leave the ocean. Looks like Sydney got smashed again today

    Nice pics man! Up here in Cairns we have had a few large storms pass over, but since I am relatively close to the oceans, the big ones seem to be dodging us. Townsville got a shocker storm I believe at around 6am on the 7th, ALOT of rain! Keep em coming!

    Added my location :lol: I don't have any radar images from the storm (Unless I can find archives somehow ...), but there was 2 build ups on either side of us, and one of them decided to cross right over the top -- causing that strike in the 2nd picture.

    Hi, new to the forum, and my first try at capturing some lightning! Since taking pictures of the lightning was practically impossible for me (Camera has to auto-focus before it takes the shot), I decided to just make a video and grab some stills out of them! Not the best, but I think they are alright for my first try Looks like a really overcast day ... untill you look at the car window Really close, that one! :lol:
