  1. It can't be the temp is 5.4c. The cold air hasn't undercut yet, the winds are still from the SW https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=ILONDON171#history
  2. Also for anyone who live in London and can see the shard its a good indication of where the snow line is as it usually fades out where the snow is falling.
  3. I hope so! Though I've lived in central London for nearly four years and yet to see lying snow. Thank the lord my family live up north to get my snow fix.
  4. Good job I'm in London for once, hopefully yall will get some snow.
  5. I suspect there'll be another southward correction in the models later tonight re tomorrows feature in the se.
  6. The 12z Euro4 has shifted the bulk of the precipitation further south, not by a significant margin but enough to put the London area firmly at the centre of the heaviest PPN which is ideal for any evaporating cooling. Somewhere like St Albans seems like the sweet spot.
  7. Uppers are at there coldest at 6am at -8, the 850's increase to -6/-7 by 6pm. They get colder again by midnight but by then the flow has been cut off.
  8. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=euro4&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=-&VAR=t850&HH=0&ZOOM=0&ARCHIV=0&RES=0&WMO=&PERIOD= Below is accumulating snow, best chances are under the streamer where ever is under it inland would likely see settling snow as it would bring the freezing level down. But as you can see away from the streamer is a bit of a miss.
  9. I think its going to be a washout for most of the NW. Wintry showers been the order of the day but lying snow looks transient inland, towards the coast no chance, this is backed up by the EURO4.
  10. We have freezing fog here, black ice everywhere, LBA reporting 'light freezing fog' Whatever ends up falling from the sky will freeze.
  11. What's the weather in Sheffield saying, I see the front has reached you guys.
  12. If it does snow it will lay instantly. Unless the snow is really wet.
  13. Its 1.c with light snow in North Leeds on high ground, a very promising start before the front arrives. The forecast for now was 3.c and sleet.
  14. ECM again fairly bullish about leading edge snowfall.
  15. BBC look north forecast for Yorkshire said to watch out for snow on Saturday as the low bumps into cold air. Hmmmmmm
  16. Thats the last slide as it only goes out to 42 hr but the North East trajectory points to an all snow event as it skims Yorkshire rather than pushing right through. The ECM typically has a cautious approach to snowfall projections is bullish as well. The ECM does turn the snow to rain but that's because its trajectory is further west to begin with. I think the real danger is we'll see a good period of potentially quite heavy snowfall for it only to turn to rain by mid morning. South Yorkshire is most at risk of it turning to rain as well as its a real knife edge situation that far south.
  17. Quite a strong snow signal on the highest resolution model available
  18. Leeds Bradford Airport has also closed due to snow.
  19. Same story in higher parts of Leeds, I think we are under a streamer for the day! Leeds Bradford Airport has also closed due to snow.
  20. Leeds seems to be the sweet spot for snow, its really coming down and everything is covered.
