  1. The local BBC forecast and the national BBC forecast were completely different with regard to the timing of any rain tomorrow, 10am on one and 13.00 on the other. As I need to pack ready for the market tomorrow, (obviously not going if it pees down) can anyone give me a reasonable stab as to when the rain might actually arrive. Ta.
  2. I was having a moan yesterday as the BBC graphics both nationally and locally were showing rain yet the Met Office site had no rain for us. Turns out the Met was right but its bloody annoying. Bring back the old days of a shower symbol on the BBC!
  3. Very disappointing here, virtually no rain as it went around us again! Heard a couple of loudish rumbles in the early hours but that was it.
  4. Yes I've just watched the national BBC weather and their graphics clearly showed us covered by shower activity for several hours tomorrow yet the Met Office has my area completely dry for the same period. The disparages between forecasts really annoy me.
  5. Gutted, seem to be in a rain shield here as usual. After some early activity it's gone a bit quiet, absolutely no wind now and only a bit of lightning. It promised so much watching it come up over the Channel but as ever, it goes either side of me!
  6. We are going from no wind one minute to a strong breeze the next, don't you just love the weather! I've reckon the best of the action is heading more Poole way though, looking at the radar.
  7. Plenty of lightning here, just went out to bring in the gazebo as the wind has picked up. A few drops of rain, I'd forgotten what that was! I'm desperate for a good storm but with a Jack Russell who is petrified of thunder it's a difficult thing to wish for.
  8. Could anyone on here give me an idea of the rain risk on Sunday? Met Office have one rain drop from 7am then two drops through to the afternoon, Net Weather forecast has us dry. I'm hoping for a day off if it rains but if it's dry then off to work I go! Thanks.
  9. I'd give anything right now for a decent shower like that. I'm trying to water my crops but the sea breeze is so strong the water is just blowing everywhere. Any chance of those showers moving inland?
  10. Just heard the BBC 1 lunchtime weather presenter say our weather is 'on a journey'........what next, 'going forward'. Truly dreadful presentation.
  11. My sister has just driven back along the coast road and says the snow looks thick across the way. The A37 is closed so I guess it is probably bad on the A35 as it's fairly high.
  12. I'm all for a split.........as long as Fergie continues to post! Wouldnt want to lose his v informative posts.
  13. Ref your point about ground temperatures I asked the following in the gardening thread but nobody has responded, can you help or anyone else on here help? "Anyone know who best to ask about ground frost penetration? Is it down to how low the temperatures get or is it down to constantly low temperatures over a period of time? Just thinking about my tiddies! (spuds)"
  14. Lovely and warm here when the sea mist doesn't come in. It's one of those days when you could be in a t-shirt one minute and fleece the next.
  15. Yes, I know the feeling! As a cold lover I find the conflict difficult when I need to start earning some dosh.
  16. Yeah, David and Ian are streets ahead. There have been a couple of newbies on Spotlight weather who are truely awful.
  17. I see the Met office lrf has changed again, trending back to a more colder outlook, Does anyone know what has changed, I thought the forecast was moving away from a colder Feb.
  18. Graphics on both the main and local news seemed very out of date, had rain for my area but roads already struggling. Surely it doesn't take much to have a quick glance at the radar or forums like this for a nowcast. If you'd seen our local weather you'd think it's ok to drive but the higher routes are treacherous Edit: just seen the precip radar someone just posted showing rain for here but fat flakes falling at the moment so I'll let the forecasters off this time!!
  19. Try some Jerusalem Artichokes or a can of coke, usually works for me!!
  20. Temperature has dropped 3.7c here still raining. I would be grateful if peeps in south somerset could give me a heads up if it starts to snow, OH working in Yeovil today and the A37 can very quickly get tricky.
  21. Precip coming in off the sea is pepping up as it hits land fall perhaps that's why met office have snow on us all day. Snowing harder again now.
