  1. Near Hull for the weekend and have had 2 long, loud rumbles. Hoping what's heading through Lincolnshire will be a direct hit.
  2. And so it begins. Very dark. Just had a pre squally downpour. Flashes and thunder approaching. Even the 2 year is excited!
  3. Has been raining moderately for about 30mins, but it's now very dark, and the wind has picked up. Thunder has stopped, for now, but I'd be very surprised if there isn't more to the south.
  4. What's creeping towards London from the SW looks like it just had it's first strike! Hopefully it will develop, and not peter out...
  5. Heard that here. Haven't heard anything else, though not actively listening, even with windows open.
  6. These developments make me wonder for the next hour or so. Is what's coming off the channel going to explode..?
  7. Hi Tom, I think after missing the rain events in late August by meer miles, I think we're doing quite well now. It's nice to see the green return to the parks and open spaces and see our park wildlife enjoying full lakes. Hoping to get earlier potential tonight so as not to disturb little one in the middle of her night. Night before last was not good! Hope you're both well and enjoying the seasonal weather Mark
  8. The cells that keep popping up south of London are torrential. Couple of strikes and thunder from what just went over here in SE12. Looking forward to the next few hours potential. VID20220906174403.mp4
  9. Some intense flashes and impressive CG on the Brighton webcam. 【LIVE】 Webcam Brighton Pier | SkylineWebcams WWW.SKYLINEWEBCAMS.COM Watch our Brighton webcam overlooking the Brighton Pier! Follow the city's major events and explore our free HD cams in the UK. Currently just distance rumbles hear, now, occasionally being masked by the first planes into Heathrow.
  10. Sudden eruption near Canterbury has given me renewed hope. Anything can happen!
  11. Everything coming from SE and NE seems like it will converge on South London (I REALLY hope!). Though there is every chance that it will all stay too far north, and never reach from the south...
  12. First rain from what's developing east of London. Moderate, large raindrops. Hoping it builds to instability quickly.
  13. London seems to be under a big hole in the cloud and we've had warm sunshine for a few hours. Hopefully a little extra heat will make a difference in the next few hours.
  14. Liking the sudden development south of me. Hoping for a little cooling before we have to put a 2 year old to bed!
  15. From Twitter: DARTFORD HEATH update: Fag butt or global warming (or maybe both). You decide. Scary stuff on the A2. Vid: Keith Parsons. https://t.co/ToGRSnSmT6
  16. Saw the smoke from the A2 as I drove past Hall Place. Just a discarded bottle can start them. Hope nobody hurt. My very unofficial recording is attached, after a drive and parked in the shade.
  17. I guess the ukv is on GMT and not BST, as it's a pretty close match as of a couple of minutes ago (if you ignore the extent of the rain south, of course) .
  18. Has nobody yet worked out that this is completely unpredictable? Though I've got a 2 year old that may see otherwise!
  19. Was an unintentional afternoon of storm chasing. Daughter fell asleep in the car so shot down the M20 and got lucky, the turned around to get some more, then scooted up to the M25 and M2 to get the big line. Torrential rain almost stopping the motorway and plenty of lightning. I could get used to this!
  20. 10 minutes of heavy hail, with sleet mixed in, then turned to proper heavy snow for about 5 minutes. What a day of weather. Started with thunder and lightning at 7am with torrential rain, then blue skies, and now this. Sunny again now with the black sky moving away SE.
  21. Have been under blue skies here all day, but just a sniff of cloud building, and what looks like a darker line to the west. Seems to be stalling but sunset at 15:57 could help.
  22. Storms now building to the NE of London and travelling SE. Fingers crossed IMBY, but the constant thunder from the south has been nice to hear.
  23. Orpington getting the brunt currently, south of me. Basically just developing a mile so away.
  24. Thunder almost constant from the east. Keeps missing by a few miles.
