  1. Hey I’ll admit when I’m wrong hahaha The temp fell 9C in 10 minutes. Amazing. Nice and refreshing.
  2. I think any storms will be flirting with the coast. Can’t see them coming anywhere close. Trajectory is wrong
  3. High of 31C today. It’s currently 30C at 6pm. Insane. If the storms stay away, tonight will be a technical tropical night (where the temp doesn’t fall below 20C). Very uncomfortable.
  4. The cloud didn’t break yesterday until about 4pm, way later than forecast. Blue skies by 6pm. The signal is for the cloud to retreat MUCH faster today. By 1pm much of the region should (apparently) be under the blue skies that we’ve become accustomed to. Though, looking at the satellite, it looks to be more extensive and even more stubborn than it was yesterday. We’ll see. As the wind direction begins to change and we pull up way drier air from the continent, this North Sea depression blanket will change with it. Can’t help but feel sorry for those on the E coast, they’ve had almost every day like this. Grey and 12C. Yuck.
  5. Another amazing day of blue skies. Having checked the charts, I see no end to this high pressure that’s bringing this amazing weather, with the 06Z bringing a continuation until FI. The met office monthly outlook has it continuing until the end of the month. This could be a record breaker for sunshine hours in our part of the world.
  6. Hi all, Does anyone have any videos of thunderstorms, tornadoes, high winds or any other extreme weather they would let me use? Full credit would be given and you'd be helping me out massively. I'm making a video about the most extreme weather on the planet. The videos could be from anywhere around the world, I'd love to be able to use your work! Cheers
  7. Shower train in full force here today. The sunshine and showers we had forecast turned into showers and showers. Think I saw the glimmer of the sun for 2 minutes. Temp 11.5C. Another poor day of weather, even by our standards. 2023, the year of the never-ending autumn.
  8. I’m surprised there’s a lack of posts here this morning with the 00z bringing some short and medium term upgrades. In the short term, higher pressure seems to hold on slightly longer this coming weekend giving a more decent day on Sunday than what it was originally forecasting. Medium term I’m happy, it’s not the warmest, but it’ll be way more pleasant with higher pressure edging it’s way eastwards from the Atlantic more and more every run. The devil being the low over the continent which will play a part in deciphering just how far eastwards our high can push. Overall though, surely an improvement over recent days. It even goes on to welcome us to our summer in FI with a blast of heat and temperatures in the mid-twenties (obviously just for fun at this range).
  9. Lovely weather today. No complaints for a change. We had a couple of showers around lunchtime, but they cleared and so too did the clouds. We’ve been left in the sunshine since around 3pm and the temperatures responded with it, hovering around 17C all day, which is around average for this time of year. Sun is still out as I type this with lovely blue skies above.
  10. ‘Sum up spring and your prediction for summer in one chart’ No problem
  11. Yesterday was lovely. Mostly light winds, sunshine all day and a top temp around the 18/19C mark. Today looks a little more sketchy. We’ve started off with hazy sunshine, but there’s cloud moving in and a strong, rather cold breeze.
  12. An absolutely fantastic start to the day with sunshine. The Met Office app is still going for a cloudy day though. Yesterday was also mostly sunny, despite cloudy forecast text & apps.
  13. Well the sun has finally come out here and there’s a few pockets of blue skies about. Amazing how the cloud is hugging the land on the satellite picture. Clear skies out to sea and plenty of cloud ruining our weather right now. The outlook is bleak. May is one of my favourite months. Can be scorching hot during the day followed by a cool, refreshing night. Instead we’re 13-16c by day and cold at night. Not ideal. Honestly, I’m thinking this summer could be one of the coolest, and dullest on record.
  14. Hey! Wow that was a long time ago now wasn’t it. I think it’ll be at my parents house somewhere! I’ve moved about 4 times since then haha! Sick of opening this app and seeing nothing but cloud and rain symbols. High pressure has been so absent for the past few months. Surely it’s got to even itself out soon? I’m aware pressure is building as we speak, but it’s a cloudy, ‘uncertain’ high. Not ideal.
  15. Really warming up here with the sun in and out. 20.5C currently! What a nice surprise.
  16. How can the Met Office be so bad so often? Their text forecast called for a rainy morning, followed by a showery and blustery afternoon with below average temps. So far today the sun hasn’t gone in, there’s no wind, no persistent rain and no showers. It’s also the warmest feeling day of the month. I’m just gonna stop reading their text forecasts. Their hourly ones are bad too.
  17. Been cloudy all day. Wind has been a bit stronger than forecast, hence more cloud making it over the Pennines from the North Sea. Sun has recently come out, cloudless skies from 30 mins ago. Felt cold today despite it being around 14/15C all day…
  18. I know it’s March and we get mixed weather at the best of times, but this is a joke now. It rains every single day. The outlook isn’t great either, some high pressure building but lots of cloud before it transitions over Scandinavia and leaves us cold. Really depressing. Feels like we are in for a wet spring and summer this year.
  19. Some lovely strong sunshine today. Temp is getting on for 14C. T-shirt for now. Clouds are darkening though.
  20. Sweet Jesus the sun is out. For the first time in what feels like an eternity 11C, no wind, bright, warm sunshine. Now that’s lovely. Had the dreaded sickness bug that’s been going round, really nasty, possibly the nastiest one I’ve had to date. Just starting to come back round and feel myself again, and this weather helps. Shame it’ll probably be the last time until Wednesday next week that we see the sun, we really do live in a poor climate.
  21. Temp has just fell by 5.5C in 10 minutes. That’s insane! Rain and ice pellets currently.
