1. ABSOLUTELY Brilliant - what a cracker, glad I did not miss this on, you should have picked April 1st for April fools day. They better beware! I have never laughed so much at the forum. Some dont have a sense of humour do they. Your such a bad boy one up to the SW thread.
2. Karlos, 20-50cms of snow for wales tommorow, thats from the BBC weahter forecast just now. Better take a spade and supplies if I was you.
3. Hi All, Go on the mod discussion, it is quiet on there, BUT they are discussing Ian Fergies post on there to and all sorts of things are getting discussed, but what is getting more and more planer is that there is big potential for this snow event coming off. It is all very cival on there at the moment. Have a look, it is worth it.
4. Morning All, Lovely crisp morning here in Bristol -0.3. Not going out just having a pj day though, and looking forward to seeing what has happended over night tomorrow. GOOD NEWS .......... Look at post 710 on the winter model discussion. The SW has the upper hand later in the week, and gets a special mention NOT THE EAST! then possibly
5. Yep totally agree with you Smartie. They just a have a one track mind up and down not also side to side that includes us. With regards to the snow, you never know we maybe pleasantly surpried over the next few days. Like everything with the weather it just needs a freak movement in the fronts and bingo, also as everything is in turmoil at the moment this makes it even more exciting. Dont you agree? nothing is totally positive with any weather person on the tv, I do hold a candle for Ian Ferguson though he never puts his neck out, and he is at the moment.
6. just been on the model thread and everyone is happy and contented with the outcome. All toys secured in their prams. Looking absolutely fantastic for most of the country. Cant wait until things are firmed up the regards to the snow fall. We can get more information on here and people are more frank about totals, so even if we do get 15cm as stated on the other side, I am sure that out local weather men will not panic people and say that. Will They?
7. Hi Dancing Daisy, I was wondering where dogs 32 had gone just the other day, does anyone know where he is?
8. Hi All, Just seen the weather on BBC1 bristol local and Mr Weather Man said that this weekend is a total mess and it is going to be very interesting as it could prove to be alot colder than was originally forecast. When the TV weather says that then it could be very interesting, they seem never to put themselves out on a limb usually. Cant wait, here comes something!
9. Its still a long way off, we all know its is quite certain but surely the cold is the first part of the mix to make snow. Even if it does rain that could very easily turn to snow in a blink of an eye if something suddenly changes, like it has done in the past. Like Aquastarmist has said "Game On".
10. Oh Boy - I am looking forward to what the weather has to come over the next few weeks. Like others on here I was going to enter the lions den, but I have decided not to even bother, because it just gets up my nose how petty and argumentative people can get. I would not like to live next door to some of them if that is what their behaviour is like on a weather forum. Anyway that said - lovely on here as always, and looking forward to the next episode in a while and i'm not going to have my hopes dashed from the otherside.
11. Hi Itsy, You sound like you should be a moderator. You have made a valid comment on how this thread should be, i.e: very informative, detailed posts, so people like myself and others willing to learn can interact with others points, not the one liner, back biting, down right nit picking posts. keep up the good work we need people like you. Happy New Year
12. Jack FM said at 5 o'clock the temperature was going to be 5 degrees tonight. Temperature has now dropped to Zero within an hour and we are having a heavy sleet shower. Where ever are they getting their info from.
13. Summer Blizzard - At last someone had posted something that I can understand "plain English" simple and polite, without bad mouthing the other charts, or anyone else or being totally bias. Keep up the good work - A very pleasant post
14. Yes the weather seems not real at all. Saying that last winter seemed very long indeed so just waiting until the usual time ie Jan & Feb for hopfully some snow so I'm not really bothered about the weather until after Christmas has made it alot easier to shop with no snow. Went out in the garden today glanced into the flower beds and yes my daffodils are all in bud and ready to go. I did glance at them twice and then thought OMG it is only December.
15. At last some interesting weather for the the SW, thanks Shaun for that possibility will keep a close eye on that one. Exciting times for next week, thought the weather was just going to be chilly and boring, can anyone tell me why the weather is so windy for this time of the year? I would normally put this sort of weather in March time and October never known it for December. Wild is the only way to describe what is going to happen.
16. Hi I think you may find it is called a jay. They fly in the same fashion as the Thrush. They are of a size between a Thrush & a Magpie. They are very shy birds
17.
An interesting read. Basically a battleground situation is what people in the West need. An Easterly wind doesn't tend to deliver for us Westies because of the Pennines eating up any potential precipitation. A battleground situation would bring snow to Western parts, and if the Easterly wind wins the battle, it could be an interesting spell! :)
Ahh at last some one speaking up for us Westies. If I look on to my regional 14 day weather thingy for Bristol on this site we have snow showers and icy rain for over 10 days right up until 2nd of December from the begining of next week. What is that all about if we are not supposed to get any snow. Even snow showers are enough to put people into the Christmas/Winter spirit. Chill out all of you arguing who is going to have what and who is having it first and enjoy.:yahoo: Our weather is so unpredictable no one knows what is going to come we can only SURMISE.:drinks:
18. OH I see, it will only be speculation on all counts then. More than likely we will have a gradual decrease in the warmer temps over the years and we would probably see more inclement weather. Obviously we wont be seeing "the day after tomorrow" in real life. Lets hope the Atlantic Conveyor does not cease or that will be another scenario all together wont it.
19. tHi 19jacobob93, Very interesting what you are saying. What will the outcome for this scenario be, are we talking about the weather taking a more eratic approach just for this winter, and the gulf stream warm up again once next year comes. OR are we talking about a long term thing. YEARS.
20. hi Cheeky Monkey, WOW that is certainly not a subtle change is it. What a great place to live to see and feel something like that, that is proper weather. I did not realise that things could change that quickly, if our temps dropped like that we would think the end of the world was coming. I could not imagine temps like that in the morning then lots of snow a little later on. Our temperature was about the same as yours here in Bristol UK yesterday so I can only imagine that what it would be like to be digging the car out right now. UNBELIEVABLE. What a lovely place to live! Good luck to you for the winter.
21. Evening Stuart, Total disbelief that the weather is still not playing ball with us. Just ome back from Florida touching 95 there. I was hoping to come back to our weather changing but alas no. I am rather concerned that the winter is going to be worse than this year, as we are basically not getting alot of sun to warm up the earth. What is your take on this. I know it is only June but time is flying by and before long the nights will be closing in.
22. Ooooh Sooooo Jealous of you lot. Even though I have had enough of snow I would have loved to see what the excitement North has. Our weather is changable here in the UK. I love all the weather as it can have all sorts of outcomes, even the heat can bring a good thunderstorm, cold can bring snow, and then you have the heavy rain. It is all fun! and you can sit in cosy and watch it. It is I must say blowing an absolute hooly here, and we have had rain and hail showers on and off all day. I have never seen the sky have so many different colour changes in one evening. One time sun, then black, then a dark pink colour, like when we have hailstorm coming. It is very cold too. More to come apparently for the next six days or so.
23. Its is as quiet as a grave yard here just been raining lightly not even a breeze. Where has the storm gone?
24. Hi Yamkin, I found your posts very interesting and especially the one in red above, it seems to me that it pays just to read on here sometimes and not comment, from what flack you have had over the little comment on the Thames Barrier. After all it seemed you were only relaying information that you thought would be of interest to us.
25. Hey bad boy dont go, it is good to hear what everyone has to say! I have been reading these sort of posts for a few days now and it is all very interesting.
