  1. what about this just now in Wakefield area? http://t.co/EiY0kYic Fab funnel!!
  2. Two huge flashes of fork lightning and gunshot thunder in Oswestry- bizarrely half an hour apart! Nothing like yesterdays Armageddon with 16.2mm rain, marble sized hail and constant thunder and lightning for an hour. Come OOONN!
  3. I do- i've had one brewing for several hours now. Its turning blacker here by the minute....
  4. I'm getting to grips with using all the charts and am able to forecast most weather types. How do you forecast cloud though? What is the best chart type to use?
  5. gone really black here and a warm wind is picking up. Maybe something on the cards as i heard a distant rumble when i left work Edit- sudden heavy rain now coming down too
  6. I'm super new to this but if i'm reading them correctly, the current CAPE charts are showing some quite tasty looking conditions, ripe for storms this evening..... especially in the South East, you lucky devils
  7. Oswestry, Shropshire Overcast 21C Humidity 78% Wind from S 17mph it says, but looks a hell of a lot stronger Dewpoint 17C Overall its blooming miserable
  8. Did anyone see the moon mysteries programme on the discovery channel last night? A scientist on there claims to have found a direct correlation between the moons eliptical orbit, and earthquakes. He has managed to predict a number of major quakes including the Asian Tsunami on boxing day 2004 using his theory pinpointing the area and magnitude. He says there is increased activity around the time of an eclipse of the sun. Interesting as LA suffered a 5.8 yuesterday and we are due an eclipse on Friday...
  9. Um well, I believe it only coz I have seen something recently  , and I was going to tell you all about it, but feel embarrased so I shant ! ................
  10. looks like more storms coming in from the Irish Sea this afternoon.... Wales and the west gonna get some lookking at the Radars
  11. They sooo rarely get it right its almost laughable, and that Francis Wilson describing the weather as "spitty spotty rain"...hmm let not rely on him too much for the "Science bit" hey??
  12. Had a huge storm last night from 9pm- 1.30 am here in Oswestry- at times in excess of 12 strikes per minute- seemed to be lightning constantly. Have never seen so much lightning since 1989. Incredible. Another storm rumbled in and made us jump at 3.05am this morning but now all quiet with some sunshire in fact! A few ominous clouds still around though. Wouldnt surprise me to see more.
