Where is all the wind that has been forecast for northern Scotland?Here in Easter Ross it has been almost dead calm all day right up to now! -
I think it will be quite mild & settled - go for 6.2C

A pure guess - I think that January will be disappointingly anticyclonic with HP sometime in the "wrong place" for any really cold weather - it seems to be slipping south all the time - a tendancy to be continued. My guess is 2.9C.

The summer, one word to sum it up?

Up here on the Cromarty - poor, cool,changeable & often breezy - but not as dreadful as 2007. We managed a few BBQs but could never rely on the weather from one part of the day to the other. As in 2007, however, we appear to always miss the heavy rainfall events affecting the other end of the UK, getting cool easterlies off the N sea. Yesterday, for example, we had sunshine.
