  1. Any thoughts on Sunday yet for the London area? I'm doing the Winter 10K and most forecasts seems to be going towards it being dry if cool in the morning, but I've noticed the local ITV weather seem keen to sweep in some low pressure and rain.
  2. Morning all, a fair start here in South London/Surrey or wherever you geographically place Croydon, sitting at around 13c. The only thing the forecasts seem to agree on is that we could reach 23c in these parts. Apart from that the BBC are going for wall-to-wall sun and everywhere else is going from a bit of cloud to complete cloud cover by mid-morning. Be interesting to see how that pans out.
  3. I have to agree, was in Central last night for a musical, around 5pm it was decent enough, by the time we've had food and left to get to the theatre at around 6.30 there was a chill in the air, by the time we got out at 10.10 my thin jumper really wasn't enough. With this breeze as you roll into the evening it's like a different world to what was usable a few hours before. We're out again today seeing some friends and I'm wearing my hoodie today!
  4. The sun is out here for once, but the wind isn't helping. Kenley weather station is hovering around 16c!
  5. As others, the weather is usable during the day bit the wind is nagging a bit and the temperatures do fall during the evenings. Off to the theatre this evening, then meeting friends in town on Saturday before the last day of the football season on Sunday before travelling to the NW.
  6. Hey all, Another bright-night season is upon us. It's a season I don't get on with mainly as despite as dark as bedroom I can make my body always seems to decide to wake up as sunrise occurs so I'm fighting 5am wake-ups at present! Working in education the sun always seems to roll back to around 9pm sunset as the school year finishes which is 8 weeks or so away. I always find the May-July time difficult, I think it's due to mentally knowing that come August we start loosing daylight rapidly (3.5mins a day on average) and for whatever reason my body relaxes more. I'm not a huge fan of the long-dark winter nights but I can get along with them better than the daylight period between May-July.
  7. It might have got to around 36c here, but the local weather stations only rose by 0.5c in the last hour so looks like the forecast high of 36c was pretty spot on.
  8. Totally agree, been promises for the last two days which have failed to deliver. Currently about 18c here and grey as far as you can see!
  9. Like others have said, the promise of a last few days of sun and warmth have failed to materialise (yet!) lots of cloud yesterday, with like drizzle which left everything a bit damp this morning. Signs around here that the skies are slowly (slowly being the word!) brightening but unsure if it will give away to any major sunny spells before sunset which seems to be getting earlier and earlier! MO is going for a sunny day tomorrow now, with more cloud around on Sunday. BBC forecast this morning seemed to suggest the opposite! Currently somewhere between 15-16c with cloud.
  10. Lovely on the South Bank - ran the London Summer Run this morning, not clear blue skies slight white tinge and a slight breeze off the Thames.
  11. Clear blue skies one side of the building, towards the west. The other side facing the east has seen cloud slowly build during the morning. Might produce something interesting this afternoon? The forecasts suggest there is a 30% risk here for something during this afternoon.
  12. Far too warm here last night, it's a warm morning too, the only relief from the heat (set to be 28-29c around here today) is that we might get some more cloud this afternoon, with a chance of catching a storm or rain, but to be fair I'll take the cloud for a bit to be honest! I got a 10k event at the weekend, and it's looking a tad different from the next few days for sure! Cooler and wetter!
  13. After a glorious start to the day, the cloud popped up and by 8.30am it was cloudy! Apart from the odd glimpses of sun we're still under a wall of cloud which doesn't look like clearing soon. The forecast around here was topping out at around 25c today but with this breeze and cloud levels it needs to get a wiggle on!
  14. Morning @Dangerous55019, well it's nearly afternoon! I guess I'm 'lucky' to be in the SE. Sunset this evening in London is around 9.15pm but this evening I'm travelling to the NW with my partner to see her parents, and amazingly sunset up there is 9.37pm! It's amazing how much a couple hundred of miles can make! I always tend to notice it more this time of the year as we roll through July the stark differences in the evening daylight between London and the NW. It wasn't the brightest of evenings yesterday but from the house it was looking dark outside by 9.20 but there's little chance of that this evening for me!
  15. Still cloudy down here, we've had a splattering of blue sky, but similar to yesterday it looks like the sunnier periods will be as the sun sets. Already loosing 90secs a day of sunlight! Amazing to think that in just a couple of weeks we will be facing 9pm sunset times, summer continues to fade ....
