    Picked up some interesting "ice bobbles" on the tips (probably a better word for it) of my shoelaces this morning (Friday) from the frost while marching up and down to the targets at archery in 0C temps. Was like a heavy, dirty dual-hailstone, a microscale analogy to a very dirty comet. It's all a question of scale. We are here but once, so observed for pleasure.

    Looks like quite an intense squall line / trough about to hit Bristol. Get your washing in!

    Some heavy stuff about to hit West Cornwall. Maybe a bit more widespread through Cornwall later.

    Not seeing any sferics on the radar but, yeah, looks like there's enough energy to produce some looking at the rain intensity. Another big batch heading for Hastings.

    Ian Fergusson @fergieweather W COUNTRY WEDS: Broad trend to spread snow risk further north through today into afternoon/eve, i.e. more into #Gloucestershire/#Cotswolds & eastwards to Chilterns. Tricky balance southwards, as snow could pep-up later/eve for eg M4, S Glos, perhaps #Bristol (esp higher ground).
