  1. It can’t be called a ‘spell’ anymore, so the worst ‘era’ of weather I have ever experienced this (since the end of summer 22). Im genuinely worried this new awfulness has stuck and will be our default moving forwards (with the odd small window of respite like June 23 and the week in September) The three summer months will have to be absolutely phenomenal now to salvage this year because May looks just as uninspiring and by the time we get to the end of July the nights are drawing back in and we gear up for at least another 8 months of dross. Thank Christ I am actually going on holiday this year if only for a week.
  2. Spent barely any time outside today. It was Baltic in that wind. Heating on tonight.
  3. Son’s first birthday party today. looks like it’s going to be an indoor affair because despite it being dry and quite bright, the endless raging cyclonic wind will make it thoroughly miserable to be outside in.
  4. Oh sick it’s raining here again. only 9 weeks until the nights start drawing in
  5. Yeah plumes are pretty pants here nowadays too (in actual summer) - the cold front pushes through and just shunts the warm air out the way rather than going bang (haven’t had a summer plume storm here since 2019) May and September however have both delivered for here over the past couple years. I think we’ve had a crazy nighttime strobe show in both those months for two years running. Hard to imagine plumes and storms when the weather has been the equivalent of beige for 8 months solid now.
  6. lmao how tf is it getting somehow even worse for later next week?! I think i need to log off for a bit and come back in June.
  7. richie3846 at least they had a heatwave. We had a mildripple
  8. In Absence of True Seasons it’s that super annoying situation where I go out to my car wrapped up in winter jacket with bobble hat on because it’s freezing but where the strong sun has been shining on my car, it’s roasting hot inside. You get undressed again and drive to your destination before having to get dressed again once you get there because you forget it’s the Siberian tundra out there.
  9. reef fair enough! we’ve still had about 5 weeks of nice weather in the last 80 which is very uncool.
  10. Don the three week spell in June was wonderful - I have zero complaints there (apart from lack of storms) but July was a horror movie and august was painfully mediocre. 3 out of 12 weeks is quite poor.
  11. reef I don’t remember it being particularly nice - was it propped up by warm nights? Summer 23 was also apparently one of the ‘warmest ever’ or at least above average according to the stats but anyone with eyes would say it sucked.
  12. Don we did - but we’re now on 4 crap springs on the trot and one good summer out of 3. I wouldn’t be AS concerned if summer last year hadn’t been so awful. I didn’t think it was really possible to have an utterly dreadful spring AND summer but we managed it last year and now I worry this year will head the same way. We’ve had like 4-5 nice weeks since the end of summer 22 which translates to roughly 4-5 weeks in the past EIGHTY. Or 35 days in the past 560 its horrendous.
  13. So the rest of April looks uninspired and cold - if May is the same then I feel we can definitely say something has really tangibly changed in our climate since 2020 which is worrying. I can’t cope with 9/10 months of autumn/winter every year.
  14. Cheshire Freeze yes going by my ‘weather app symbols’ which admittedly are quite useless, it just looks grey and cold for the foreseeable might as well bring back the weather we’ve just had because at least it was a bit warmer
  15. I wonder if it’s going to be like last spring where it was relatively dry and even bright but we had that god awful nagging wind all the way until the very last day of May down here. Really hope not
  16. The bedroom especially is freezing again where the cold wind just drives its way through the house. My bones are tired and I need some warmth.
  17. CryoraptorA303 I'm wishing for 6 months of no rain personally.
  18. CryoraptorA303 wearing a jacket indoors feels a bit weird. Its uncomfortable. I like the house to be around 18-20 degrees for me to feel normal. The lack of sun (until yesterday) means the house just hasn’t warmed at all and has been chilly since like October.
  19. Yesterday was only like the second day this spring where it’s actually felt springlike and it was nice taking my son out for a walk (even though there were random 90mph winds every so often) today is okay when the sun is out. Looking thoroughly uninspired for the next 10 days although dry which I guess is something.
  20. yeah, spoke too soon - just looks like a continuation of the grey horrible theme that is now probably our default weather pattern going forwards but with lower temps. Garbage
  21. April 20th would be fab as it will be my sons first birthday and we tentatively planned a little gathering with hopes of being in the garden
  22. Yeah it’s not too bad here. Sat outside in a long sleeve and a jumper lol but I’ll take what I can get
  23. It’s that time of year again where I just feel utterly exhausted and like I’ve ran a marathon. Absolutely desperate for some warmer weather so I can recharge.
