  1. This really has been the longest, dullest period of weather I can ever recall. Since October you could basically wake up on any day and not know what month it was. So tedious.
  2. Take me back Honestly bring furloughed for 2 and a half months was probably the best period of my adult life. Alright, there was the niggling fear of deadly virus in the air, but it was glorious otherwise. I remember all my mates had been furloughed and I was still working until my boss called one day and said ‘I’m really sorry mate, but I’m gonna have to furlough you’ - I was like ‘oh no. Anyway’ and spent the next 10 weeks sunbathing. My partner is a nurse so she worked throughout and I didn’t have my son then so it was just me and my dog. Every day getting up at midday, lazing around in my pants, firing up the bbq and having a few beers without any guilt whatsoever. I even managed to make an album! It really was the best time on a completely selfish level
  3. this has to be the greyest/dullest period of weather in a very long time right? I think i've seen the sun about 4-5 times since christmas.
  4. Bright and sunny morning but windy. Should make the most of it because not a solitary sun symbol in my forecast for the next 10 days
  5. Crap year with a few tiny bits of interest. We had quite a beefy thunderstorm in May I think it was. Surface based with some mean looking convection. 3 nice weeks in June The September heatwave and then a really really solid 8-9/10 elevated night time thunderstorm that was actually quite violent. Our convective season in hampshire has definitely shifted to spring and autumn. Summer itself is absolutely devoid of convective interest these days.
  6. Right this second, in my sun trap of a garden, it’s beautiful. Can feel the warmth of the sun and there’s barely a breath of wind. Beautiful blue skies too. I see the cloud is due to pile in soon though. Shame
  7. I just want it to be dry - the SSW has put any enthusiasm I have for spring on hold. People worrying in the model thread that it wont affect the weather in March - it'll probably ruin April instead. I want to say I've seen snow falling in 3 of the last 4 Aprils so wouldn't be out of the ordinary for today's climate. March & April definitely feel like the new Winter. Autumn is August-Feb. Spring is maybe a few days in May and Summer is June-July (though September is often nice).
  8. The sun actually heated up my room yesterday for the first time this year!
  9. Winter was sh**e. Wet, miserable, grey sh**e. Normally around this time I would be feeling some euphoria or positivity but I just know winter is going to randomly appear during spring. The last 12 months of weather have been really testing. One of the wettest Marches on record followed by a freezing cold spring until literally the last day or two of May - followed by 3 glorious weeks and then absolute sh**e until that little heatwave in September which was followed up by 5 months of sh**e. Unless it’s in the form of convective downpours I really don’t want to see rain again until October.
  10. Really sick of this now praying for a 9 month drought starting on March 1st
  11. A perfect Winter winding down to a close here. Mainly mild (so saved on energy bills a bit) but with some cold snaps and snow falling thrown in. Not sure what the fuss is about tbh.
  12. SunSean yeah, by now I would normally be feeling positive and looking forward to spring, but spring 2023 has given me PTSD.
  13. Summer8906 wish it would shift another 800 miles north tbf
