  4. Good to hear. Snow = Moisture = Fun times
  5. I managed to get a jessops tripod brand new at a boot sale for £15 so id reccomend checking out places like that as they can be things which are bout n used once n then sold on.
  6. Don't forget u can also get currency cards so you don't have to carry cash around. these are usually mastercard and can be used as debit cards when you're out there. j x
  7. Hey Will, Just wanted to say that one of the best things about chasing with Netweather is that they will never knowingly put you in 'uncalculated' danger (storm chasing is by nature dangerious). We all have families to think about and when your chasing it's good to know that you're with people who always have this thought in their heads before anything else. Believe me - you don't need to be in danger or have a scare when your chasing to have a good ol adrenaline rush - the whole experience is one big rush - just the beauty of the skys and the roar of the thunder, the boom of the hail roar, oh and the cg lightning. Then there's the hail. The sheer scale of these storms has to be seen to be believed. Safety First ALWAYS. N if I say get in the car - get in the car  Ask Dave Vicary about that one LOL jo -x-
  8. Hey, I did a big ring round last year and the only place that would cover Storm Chasing is gowalkabout who offer special storm chasing insurance. There's a link on the right hand side of their page - http://www.go-walkabout.co.uk/ TJ x

  10. It's coming up properly now - clearly a glitch in the website - everything I did was £9.17!! It's coming up as £81.99 for 16 days. Thats a tenner less than last year and I'm not sure why??
  11. I really like this idea. If everyone had to get evening flights it would allow for travel day morning to be trave time if you're miles away.
  12. Can you imagine what would happen if all the air passengers decided not to fly one day of the year, or commuters agreed not to take th tube or train for one day?? Then maybe they'd know how we feel!!!
  13. Do you have one? Most people last year took one as we were filling memory cards up everyday and transferring everything from those to our laptops or hard drives in the evening clearing the card for use again the next day. We are also updating netweather/facebook and chatting on skype to our families as all the hotels have free wi-fi. That said I'm sure you could share if you needed to. I just hope my laptop survives the next 100 days. It's definatly tired and old and SLOW.... If not I'm getting a net book. You can get these for about £80 if you look hard enough. They're good enough for moving files around and internet. So depends how much you'd use the laptop after the trip I guess. Does that help?
  14. Trust me - the storms are amazing. A tornado is just a bonus! Im sure you can tell from everyones picture the colours in the sky are spectacular and the structure of the clouds HAVE to be seen to be believed. And as if thats not enough you can always resort to laughing at me hiding under my coat. Apparently thats quite amusing too? In my opinion (and I'm no pro) I think last year early May was unusually quiet for tornadoes. We all remember the May 4th 1999 tornado I'm sure. Also I think early season is good for fewer but stronger longer track tornados and the later in the season you get they are more frequent but more brief. I read that somewhere but can't remember where. Also the early season is 'usually' more south (texas/oklahoma) and as you get to late may june moves north into the Dakotas. Please do correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still learning. Jo -x-
  15. I still think a UK Storm Chasers series should happen. We are VERY entertaining folk after all!! Besides - It's all about Franchise n spin off now days don't you know?
  16. I'm flying back to blighty on the 11th May (just in case..... so I don't get caught out like last year *tear*) so you don't need to worry about me
  17. Just checking this is the correct hotel in Dallas - http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=44524&srcPage=SelectHotel&isMapOpen=true&selectedHotels= People who need to apply for ESTA's will need this for their application. It costs $14. Those who've been before your ESTA lasts 2 years so you're sorted https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ Going to book my room for the 28th. Claire - if you're flying out on the 28th also you wanna share a room that night to and go exploring Dallas with me the next day? J x
  18. I would but I'm only small I'll do a Jo size one....... 12oz? Oh and cookie, the Sheraton is alright, if not there's a holiday Inn. I think on the BA website it lists all the hotels nearby then you could run a price comparison on one of the travel websites??? J x
  19. Hey, and HEY!!! LOL  Q: Should we book the hotel in DFW online in advance for the first night?? Being super organised at the mo! J x
