  1. The BBC forecasters work directly with the met office and there are strict guidelines about what they can and can't say. They also have a social responsibilty to inform but not insight panic. This is why they hold back a lot of the time . They have proceedures to follow which are even stricter if severe weather is a possibility. As we all know this often stitches them right up! Lol
  2. I wanna play! I have school on Moday till 4 but I'm hoping I'll not be too far from so action anyway. If Tuesday comes off I am so going out to play. Work? What work???????
  3. Anvil to south of me is over north kent I think. I'm at laindon essex at the mo.
  4. I tried to follow the storm from white city but was thwarted by london underground. Sitting on c2c now with really dark clouds all around me but bright sunshine overhead. The southern cell looks very juicy!
  5. Excellent cloud just went over here. Black base. Good convection. Thunder and cg. Heading NE, looks like there's some hail in there too. Really strong low level winds too.
  6. Looks like inflow on this back end of the storm.
  7. Just had a downpoor and one clap of thunder in White City. Wish that coundted as a storm
  8. Yeah, I don't like the terrain in these parts so I'm off to see the wizard (any excuse to get my shoes out). Unless anything else pops up. Maybe the twister museum too? Virtually of course, although my shoes are just in the next room. . . . Happy hunting & stay safe as always x and then I log on Facebook n see there's a tornado heading right for kansas city. Well I got the Kansas bit right. Wonder if virtual me made it. . . . Hope everyone is ok!
  9. I think id be tempted to head up to Wichita as my Target is there down to enid. Great access to my favourite road, the I35
  10. Ok. I hope the North East and Missouri have a cap bust!
  11. The charts tell me to spend the morning in Lawton, but I am sticking with my theory that ground moisture is affecting storm stability , so I'm unsure. I think the north east may get a cap bust. It's a toughie.
  12. Hail. Amazing Pics! My coat misses hail
  13. This is so sad. Tour 1 stayed at The Days Inn on Rangeline Road for a couple of nights and I've been retracing our routes through the town. Looks like the Mall There a couple of the guys went shopping has gone. Wondering if Crazy Golf survived Its so different seeing somewhere you've been having been hit. It really makes you think about storm chasing and the other side of it. J x
  14. that's sad. we stayed in joplin didn't we? or is it a different one?
  15. Tempted to hang in McAlister SE ok today.
  16. I'm with you in Hays today. At the Golden Corral - snacking out until tornado time.
  17. well I'm happy in weatherford for now. in the md area (just I think) n good road options too. if a cell popped up a bit further north as suggested I could get there pretty quick. if I was actually in america of course. . . I-hop franchise in the uk? yes please! ( the storms go without saying!) http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/watch/ww0306.html - yay
  18. I had a look at the charts for this earlier today. I initially went for weatherford (Western OK) but looking at the models im not sure if I want to be a bit further south. Still - Weatherford looks like a good starting point - just hope it's not a cap bust. Other option is central Kansas but I have reservations about there as, although there is little/no Cap there is no CAPE. So sticking to Weatherford for now - unless I missed something?
