1. Morning All, Thought I'd better flag up to you that I spoke to Direct Line this morning about getting insured and they said that I was given incorrect information before and that they actually don't cover Storm Chasing at all! If you've already bought your cover with them please do call and check and get them to confirm that you are covered for this activity in writing. It would be interesting to hear their responses. Thanks Jo -x-
2. So do we have the means to hook up i-pods to the car radios? I am just a little indie rock chick who needs her regular fix of Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Green Day, Killers etc, oh and ABBA! If not I feel some excellent mix cd's will be copied and bought along for the chase!
3. Sounds Like a plan. I'm contemplaiting staying in a hotel the night before as otherwise its a 6am train for me. Not that I'll be able to sleep anyway as I will be like a small child at christmas time!!!
4. Hey All, Happy Friday Just called direct line. They said if it was an activity covered in their standard policy then i could buy it online and call them up afterwards to state it on the policy. I got a single trip quote for £41. (I don't get out much LOL) The website is not working at the moment so will have a go at lunch and let you know what happens. J x
5. Sorry, it's me again! Just looking for travel Insurance. The only comapany I can find which covers this activity appears to be GoWalkabout as reccommended previously. Has anyone found any other companies? Jo -x-
6. Rock on - It's all about the merchandise! I think every shot of Reeds team was airbrushed on this years Stormchasers!
7. Thanks Dogs, I put a £400 max on the camcorder so if you know of any better which come in under that I'd be grateful. Was also gonna ask some tv peeps to but I figured you guys are the ones who do this every year so you're the ones that know from practical experience.
8. Hey Everyone, Here's something I've been thinking about - Camcorder 'v' Stills camera. Which is best to invest in? I am potentially going to get both but have a limited budget so the question is where so I spend the money? My instinct is a stills camera because I'm more likely to use this in the future (and might not need a video camera if I get one with good recording specs) but if you're going on a holiday like this don't you want some good HD video footage to look back upon? Maybe thats just TV Jo talking?!? Camcorders with potential are the JVC GZ-HD300 Everio camcorder Sony Handycam HDR-CX105E Stills cam - Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 Fujifilm FinePix S9600 Review Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 What are your feelings on this?

9. My sister has asked me to ask how much snow to expect tonight as she's off out - I told her it's a silly question as it all changes so much but promised to ask anyway.
10. Is seems to have been snowing all afternoon and yet there doesn't seem enough on the ground to match this! But I have and ingenious plan for when it all finally stops! In order to keep britains roads clear of snow and ice everyone should go outside and build giant snowmen using the snow from their street and foot path before it starts to melt! This will stop it turning into annoying slush or compacting making paths and roads slipery and dangerous.
11. Well I did it. Booked with BA via Lastminute.com. Saved me a tenner so was only £23 more expensive than the AA flights. Returns flights For £487. At least I have them now so I don't have to worry. Thanks for all the advice everyone. xxx
12. Found a BA flight for 485 - The return flight is @17.30 - is that super early?
13. Thanks Paul! Got me thinking now....... There's only £30 in it now BA prices have started coming down!
14. Ok, So Expidia special fares seem to appear in the morning and evening. They have a limited number of seats allocated to the offer. Yesterday morning AA had the special fares (they're now exactly the same as if you buy direct from AA) and yesterday evening BA had the special fares. This morning there appears to be special fares on the other airlines (KLM, Continental, NWA and US Airways) but not AA or BA. Kayak are showing fares from £444 today with AA and £498 for BA flights - these are pulled directly from the airline's websites though. So I'm taking a risk, holding my breath and waiting to see if AA get special fares back in the next few days. Quite keen to know peoples experiences of flying with these other airlines as read some revies about AA last night and they weren't that fab! Just double checked Expedia as it's around the same time as yesterday and the prices are back to being very similar as yesterday so may 10.30 is the magic time to get low fares?
15. Me to - I'm going to check throught the PM to see if the time you book affects the prices - I bet they're higher during peak web traffic times. Also will be going through a cashback site - Even if it is just 1%!
16. The fares have gone up already! Might dive in and book. Saying that they seem to come up different on every search!
17. I decided that direct flights would be best as I don't want to risk loosing luggage or additional windows of oppertunity for delays etc. Just something to consider when booking.
18. One of these? http://www.theflip.com/en-gb/ Thats what I was recomended by peeps at work. Oh, Direct flights on expedia are currently Roundtrip: £428.10 14:30 Depart London (LHR) Arrive Dallas (DFW) 18:30 Sat 8-May Duration: 10hr 0mn American Airlines 79 Direct flight 21:05 Depart Dallas (DFW) Arrive London (LHR) 12:25 +1 day Wed 19-May Duration: 9hr 20mn American Airlines 80 Direct flight Roundtrip: £444.10 12:15 Depart London (LHR) Arrive Dallas (DFW) 16:45 Sat 8-May Duration: 10hr 30mn American Airlines 81 Direct flight 21:05 Depart Dallas (DFW) Arrive London (LHR) 12:25 +1 day Wed 19-May Duration: 9hr 20mn American Airlines 80 Direct flight Roundtrip: £460.10 12:15 Depart London (LHR) Arrive Dallas (DFW) 16:45 Sat 8-May Duration: 10hr 30mn American Airlines 81 Direct flight 19:35 Depart Dallas (DFW) Arrive London (LHR) 10:45 +1 day Wed 19-May Duration: 9hr 10mn American Airlines 78 Direct flight Might book me one later !!! 19. Hi All, Have been reading all day conflicted by the fact I NEED to go to work tomorrow as I was off sick today but would really like to have some white stuff. Perhaps for a change i'll be wading into snow instead of out of it - depends on the underground i guess!! Either way at least 5 layers of clothing topped by ski wear! Siding with the little/no snow for us here is essex (we're always the special ones). Wishing you all the weather you want xxx
20. Hey, Well done. I was going to book flights in the BA sale but well, they're not on sale, they're more! Am looking at around $600 US Airways. Before I book I was wondering what flights the peeps on tour two are getting??? I don't wanna get there before everyone or after everyone xxx
21. Thanks for the support - sadly I don't get hangovers (is that sad?) so I can't use that excuse. I had checked the boards the day before and thought I'd be okay to sleep in - I didn't expect any action that early. I was awake at 9.15 and was texting my friend about my party, dresses, hair and other girly things when the storm was going on outside so would it be wrong to use that fact I was being girly as an excuse?? So close yet so far. Thanks for all the info.
22. And seeing this would have been the best birthday present ever - had I been awake!!(Changing to up as thats more accurate!)
23. It's pouring here in w12. I can hear the rain on the roof - if only I could see the sky
