  1. some posters in model thread getting excited :cold: about next weeks potential, but its a week away, the charts change all the time within hours so no point in anyone taking to much notice as yet, it may happen but may not, not looking great for snow for south Wales this week looking at forecast on tv and on radio. never mind we got this this fab wind and rain this morning to put a smile on our faces :wallbash:

  2. i see no reason why not

Andy Brynna only ever gets fog and lots of it, its only 3 ft above sea level. ha ha micky will lv this reply not, he loves snow more than anyone in the world and when it does snow he gets me to make him some snow balls and put them in the freezer for him so he can play with them ha ha

  3. I think about 26mph sounds about right, with gusts of up to 50-60mph at times. I think the winds are due to pick up early this evening. Thanks Clair do not like the wind at all. snow is ok sun is Fab wind and rain hate it.

  4. Any one know what wind speeds we can expect later today and what time? I hate the wind my mam and dad had lots of damage caused to roof last weekend and only had temp repairs just hope they good enough for the gales we supposed to be having later, on ipad showing 26mph but been told 80mph is that correct?

    Thanks all

  5. Happy New Year all hope you all have a great 2015

just been reading in moaning thread, sounds very much like January has been written off as regards to snow, it was only a few weeks back that people were predicting very cold and possibly snowy winter yet now some are saying no snow. what you guys think going to happen this winter? me I think we end up with some very wet weather (rain) and not a great deal of cold with no snow other than for tops of mountains. not based on anything other than that's the norm ha ha.

  6. Hi All been quite a horrible past few days with lots of blowing drizzle that gets you very very wet, so no sign of cold winter as yet, I know its still early but clock ticks faster and faster after xmas. I wonder if the papers be right that winter will kick in around end of December. just sit back and wait. hope every one has a great xmas and fab new year.

  7. pretty much the result of the deep cold/snow/blizzards been on going in the eastern USA - then higher sea temps in the atlantic - the seas reacting with the colder air spawning these vicious lows - we have just been locked in this pattern with what seems like forever - hints in the latest models that things may calm soon with a possible colder easterly period too

well its time these atlantic lows went south away from us ha ha had enough of them now bring on summer sorry bring on a nice summer lol
  8. It's difficult to overstate just how bad tomorrow looks. I'd say non essential travel should be avoided.

yes I think your right I heard on radio in work this morn that s wales will get heavy rain and gales tonight about 60 mph or more and then tomorrow morn they said the winds will get even stronger 80 to 90 mph that's dangerous wind speed.
  9. over the tops I expect - meto have it over 500 metres - which is above Storey Arms height - nothing here obviously - just wet! - 11th may give us something - but also may get downgraded before then! Dowlais top is even wet at the mo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! meto have snow above around 400m from sunday through to tuesday - let's hope that drops a little further

drop a few meters more and we be getting it ha ha.
  10. Just had a shock went out to fetch father in law from club and it was sleet and snow coming down up here, rain further down the valley but noticed the temp was also low showing 2.5 up here and 3.5 down in the valley, I would not be surprised to see the bwlch white tomorrow morn if it keeps up. didn't think there was supposed to be anything other than rain.

  11. I was listening to a guy on the radio talking about the amounts of rain we been having and he said this weather could last up and into March with atlantic  storms coming in every week at least with no sign of cold weather, he said there may be a cold day or two but then back to the rain and wind. so if what has been happening so far does keep on into March it does very much look like no snow or decent cold spell this winter. I cant see much kids rugby or football being played again next weekend with the forecast for this coming week. the fields around here and probs everywhere else only need a little rain and they full of puddles again. never mind summer around the corner, not sure how big the corner is but bit of luck it be nice and sunny summer we had enough rain to last us a while.
