  1. i still cant believe we cant get a high or a block in the right place even this time of year or right orientation for a slight cold snap , you know what's going to happen though ,come mid May beginning of June we will in the South East have a nice nagging chilly North Easterly for sure
  2. Dami if you was playing in the snow you would be happy too ,a lot fathers love snow too ,crappy is everything you don't like ,drought, too wet ,too cold ,too hot ,its all not no good to the people that don't like it ,sort of have to live with it ,happy mothers day ,your kids love you whatever the weather
  3. alexisj9 Sparky68GFS ,is toying with an east ,north east ,southerly wind or air mass say etc etc ,toying... as in meaning your guess is as good as mine ,thats a lot for a model to say
  4. Well feel like we have skipped winter ,it will be obsolete soon ,just be sprutumn aupring, sad but i think we all knew that anyway ps ..imby i must say ..but how long before hills up north are marginal?
  5. TROY playing with fire with sliders especially channel ones guess im going back a few years now 77 78 good winter really ,snow knocked about for few weeks ,then drifts gale force easterly little ice crystal snow ,i was about 10 ,thought be brilliant tomorrow, woke up it was nearly all gone that quick ,touch and go channel lows ,but i guess something is better than nothing huh
  6. This is what we got to get.. A to move north,B,to go anwhere but where it is eastern states ,Virginia say ..just get it out the way ,C to slowly slip south ,D well off to our east but why siberia is hogging the Scandinavian high is any ones guess ..thats our sector sorted ,hello alaska ,mate move your high will ya its getting on me nerves, ,we already have siberian trouble with out you putting a block in ,then china ..i says ive been in touch with siberia ,if can just nudge all west a bit please .....why you doing all this ? Trying to get snow flake mate ,running out of time too..chop chop
  7. Dami yea horrible ,but on extremes i just had a hail shower today dropped the temp from 8c to 3c in 20 minutes but back up to our old favourite 8c which on average has been our temp most of the winter ...
  8. Dami nothing ,just on and off little light rain ,little bit heavier and prolonged, temp plummeted, see ,( dont tell lass ) sleet on windscreen ,i love extreme weather or gorgeous weather but today was bleak ..proper
  9. Rapid drop of temp but seems even mid feb not enough ..bit of sleet but im high ..not out of it high but up in the air high but from this angle ...well who knows ..
  10. Ive said this before and its been near on comfirmed, but its not really se weather related ( in future it might be ) so move blessed if its grief ( not you lol ,the post, dont want you up in north yorkshire or wherever ) A single Antarctic heatwave or storm can noticeably raise the sea level THECONVERSATION.COM To narrow our predictions of global sea level rise, we need to know more about these sudden ‘non-linear’ changes to ice sheets. I always thought when the vortex is disrupted it more often than not drops a piece of it self in the north atlantic and if its a big chunk it brings storm force southerlys straight into Greenland ,you think it can cope, it cant ,like opposite of us getting a lot of snow out of a north westerly ..just saying it does take a toll and the screen shot is ( gfs week odd away) is a light version, sometimes its worse than that jim
  11. Lauren pressure is rising rapid, but i get what you mean ,very windy has moved a week ahead i see ,that's strange ?
  12. snowblind if i was after cold and snow ide be crying in my beer ,less something comes out of the blue it really is becoming a no show or no snow ,which ever way ,it doesnt want to know does it ,think the hadley cells are getting too big for there boots
  13. Freeze that cold sea will be a godsend when its 30 odd degrees, but same cold sea cuts a lot of storms off travelling north too ,cant seem to win can we whatever the weather ..:)
  14. Gorgeous here for mid February, 8c and near on clear blue ,light wind NW ..in sun spot tee shirt weather ..
  15. And as you know we seed clouds to change them to get wet or dry.. ( we know that ) its fact ,but to run amoc ,leave that to mother nature ..
  16. Ps ..as an asside ,AMOC..ok its got a lot of interest lately, but as a self leveler its perfect if it should weaken or stop ,then we would be colder very much so ,maybe not snowy but cold very cold ,but if you think melting equals fresh water pouring in equals ,salinity levels which will stop current ,then its nature self leveling with no interference from us ..its doing its self ..more likely has for millions of years ,so if AMOC stops its gonna be hard but at least future generations will have a chance ,the planet has more cards up its sleeve to sort our b***ocks out ...but sometimes to our cost now ..:)
  17. But its always ,sorry not always but when it starts getting into spring or autumn changes to winter its more favourable, so i guess it has to do with too much temperature variation that scuppers us ..south east that is or what we would call widespead snow ,up north on a hill you stand half a chance ,SSW for instance it has 1 in 4 chance of helping us get a colder and longer cold spell but its over ridden by the pieces of vortex that are split because it seems to drop into north atlantic ( low ) then duration is short lived even if it comes to our advantage, that is ( my opinion) is why its hard to get a good cold spell here in the south east ,one in four ,then not so long as olden days ,if the vortex is broken its safe haven is north atlantic thats our position as a country ,we cant change that can we ?
  18. This is intresting ,small changes in ocean connection to atmosphere is as we know is as inportant as strat differerences but over slightly different time ,as in other than satellites the oceans are pretty sparse on data ...this a specific or is it pacific lol ,not sure as its a big expanse... We don’t necessarily have a high-enough resolution to be able to model specific things,” she added, explaining that the dynamic nature of the ocean – and how easily small shifts can create big changes in the models – pose predictive challenges....and keep on our topic 0c and ground frost ,nothing like this time 3 years Ago ..12th feb 2021
  19. Snowangel-MK what you throwing away? don't say couple of computers and... i bet ones got GFS on it and your not happy with what it says ,so your taking it to the tip ,take a couple of runs its a big lump ,scrappy would be happy with it
