  4. Just been outside to check and its marginal at best, not snowing in wythenshawe at the moment and I can literally see the line of cloud/clear sky to the centre/north manc with a few promising clouds coming my way so heres to hoping!
  5. I work in hulme, but if its -11 I'd be really surprised, it hasnt felt that cold really.
  6. if anyone knows what the manchester airport temp is, then thats what it is here its bone chillingly cold though, even more so than last night was at this stage, we recorded -15.5 last night, so wouldnt be surprised if we beat that tonight seeing as it was -9 a hour or so ago
  7. Braved the cold to get into work today only to find out when I got there that I could have worked from home Got sent home early at 2pm so not too bad. Literally no thaw has taken place at all, so next lot of snow should see a nice few cm's added on
  8. and it'll be a long time before it does  thats the cricket ground
  9. Just popped outside, and it is really cold. I live by the river mersey and it looks like a steam/fog effect is rising from there. Definately not a night to be homeless!
  10. Thats more like it. I'll pop outside in a second to see if it really does feel that cold
  11. wouldnt be surprised if it is, its absolutely freezing. however, i think -8 is closer to the mark
  12. Wouldnt be surprised if it reached -10 tonight dont have a temp reader, but popped outside and it is absolutely freezing!!
  13. Hi, I've not been out in it much, but there is still loads of snow everywhere. I'm not in work today, working from home, and judging by the amount of cars still around, I think its the same for most people
  14. Well, its the end of the day, and what a wonderful event it has been, biggest snowfall in Manchester for many a year, and the added bonus of two snow days from work (albiet I have to work from home tomorrow, but it beats going into work) Can I just say that so far this winter has surpassed all expectations, at least 8 days of snow falling days, many of those days where it lied and stuck for days, in fact, some parts have had lying snow/ice for nearly 2 weeks now and we've still got January and February to come! Night night snow lovers
  15. Oooh... my boss just emailed me to say dont come in tomorrow and just work from home
  16. We got easily 10 inches in Wythenshawe so I wouldnt be surprised
  17. looks like what you're getting is about starting in south manchester now
  18. here we go again, light snow starting again in Wythenshawe gertting slightly heavier
  19. lets hope this band strengthens and we get another dumping this afternoon
  20. We got around the same in Wythenshawe too, and yeah, everywheres shut here too. Loads of my friends have been sent home, or couldnt make it, into/from work too (including me)
  21. cheers, time to brew up and window watch soon then
  22. wouldnt surprise me if it is, i remember the roads were lethal on boxing day and i nearly got the car stuck in miles platting (not the nicest of places to get stuck!) they will call it off for heath and safety issues as the roads/transport will be a nightmare if this snow continues
