  1. Attn John Holmes - can't PM you, your inbox must be full. A meteo query, apologies mods. If anyone fancies a go btw, be my guest.. I'm off to the Italian Alps for the first two weeks of July and a cursory glance at various LRF and charts paint a rather depressing picture but I'm no expert. Could you be so kind to give me a taster of what you think lies ahead. The area I'll be is Valtellina which is south of St Moritz. Cheers
  2. Overall theme for the northern half of the country seems to be "drying out" for this month and the next (as per CFS anom). Can't say I'm unhappy to see that...
  3. Well, here is hoping for a few weeks of this, as long as the grey skies stay east...Hills need drying out a bit!
  4. Indeed SK, Matt works for the AA, he can't go on posting "Boom!" when a chart in deep FI shows something cute or go on wild tangents as it can be done on here. I follow him, he is NW based and he provides good updates for my area.
  5. Note to forumites, you're supposed to be nice weather geek chaps, not testosterone fuelled sport jocks sizing up your manhood. Be nice. Now, for the pub run, I'm concerned about those windspeed this week-end, let's see what it shows!
  6. An article about the so called solar forcing, the little graphs is eloquent enough I would say... http://www.skepticalscience.com/open-letter-mayor-boris-johnson.html Bottom line is that best qualifed people on the subject do not see any significant relation between the sun activity and our increasing temperatures. If you want to believe loonies on blogs or forums peddling their pet theories, do so but stop pretending it makes you some kind of edgy thinker, the modern heir of Galileo, etc probably means you're suffering even more of Dunning-Kruger than you have realised so far if at all
  7. Nth recycled story about something the Met Office did not say...
  8. Seeing those pillocks wrong again will be the small consolation of seeing the weather revert to standard UK fayre after the model excitement... Nathan Rao (Express weather) earns a living from that, seriously...
  9. Down with them "experts", power to the people and COMMON SENSE...Them eggheads know nuthing! Ahem..sorry...
  10. Saturday Fine weather with plenty of sunshine and good visibility. Moderate east to northeasterly winds. Sunday Staying fine and settled with high pressure ridge persisting. Moderate north or northeasterly winds with excellent visibility. Looks fine to me...Lakes District mountain weather forecast...
  11. Don't look too bad for a bit of wildcamping indeed Essan... ;-)
  12. Went out to say hello to mates running the marathon today (handily, the course took them a few hundred yards where I live...), 30min out there was enough, comically awful weather...
