We had possibly our best storm in the last ten years last night here in Telford, Shropshire. Such a beautiful spectacle. Would have been nice to be an hour later so the lightning lit up more, but the colours from the setting sun hitting the cloud where amazing. As for the shelf cloud (I assume that's what it is), I only ever see things like that on the Internet somewhere in America!

Band of heavy showers developing across mid Wales again, can see the tops from my house in Telford.

Still some very heavy stuff heading your / our way, seems to ebb and flow a bit but despite the intensity on the radar there's no spherics showing.

Sorry, it lasted long enough for me to get wet getting the washing in then stopped

Just started to rain here as the heavy stuff to our west starts to close in. Bit on and off but very large drops and the wind has turned quite gusty.

Some lovely warm sunshine in Telford though there does seem to be quite a bit of buoyancy in the clouds. Quite a cool breeze though.

Oddly, I only moved from shrewsbuy to Telford 7 years ago, and one of the things that appealed to me about it, was that they always seemed to get more bad weather this way. Since I've moved it seems the other way around

6.6mm here in the space of 10 minutes. Caned it down, but no spherics!

Its a fall streak hole. Basically the liquid water droplets freeze and fall leaving a hole in the cloud.
